Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Is that totally dorky?

I'm not sure how much he'll appreciate it immediately but it's a fabulous gift for looking back. You are, literally, giving him access to nearly the whole world.

It's a great gift, though you'd want to technically do it AFTER his birthday so it's good for 10 years instead of 5, I'd think.

information libertarian

You get a 10-year adult passport from age 16 on. So any time is good.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Right - was going to fill out the application, have the money, and give that to him to sign. Then he would get the photo and go submit the application whenever he wanted, without parental assistance.

As any almost 18 year old, he has been mulling over all the new things he COULD do after his birthday, whether they are things he would do or not. He hasn't considered this one. (I know he could get an adult passport now, but I'd have to give my permission and be with him.)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Having lunch.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds like a great idea, Suzi.

I just registered for a triathlon in September. I hope that turns out to be a good decision.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have lost my first passport (maybe Mummy has it?), but Jamaica gives 10 year passports from the get go. How incredibly useful, but I liked the stop motion--I got my first one before I was one, so there's basically propped up infant, awkward prepubescent, and then a sequence of different haircuts. Not all that much change since 20.

I was scared they wouldn't send me my last one back (I let it slide for a long time because I had a US passport, but it's not just a gesture (I'm not flipping my finger at the US mono citizenship, it's just something they can't take from me)--it's important to me to have.

I've been all blathery about redbubble and printing my stuff like I'm the first person to discover it. It's not pride, or concern no one will buy (I consider it my shop for me), but how do you get over the hump that *your* work doesn't deserve framing and hanging, even (or especially) in your own home? Is it a fake it till you make it situation? dA let me order the one msbelle recommended (said the other was an IP violation--same character, both named in the description--maybe it's the face showing? And my statement that it wasn't how it happened in the show?--but people put screencaps up for sale, so they gotta do something). Now I'm staring at redbubble thinking--original work? Could I capitalise on my mother's love of orchids (we think she's named them all--she has near 100) and draw something beautiful enough for her? Wall beautiful, not fridge beautiful, I mean.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

How can it not be? (note: reply to -t about signing up for triathlon)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Chef was sweet and funny. And made me SO HUNGRY watching it, so eat first or plan to have dinner right afterwards.

After market, I went and dug up 20 tulips of who knows what variety at the annual Sherwood Garden dig. Didn't even try to plan. Certain beds were completely cleared out at a little after 9. Then I got the first pedicure of the year and hit up Target. I need to hit the liquor store at some point today for wine on the porch with the neighbors on Monday.
