Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: Yeah, but you don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

I hate calling (which is why I have a long list of calls to make for garage door, porch roof, vets, etc. God, I want a vacation from everything. Except it still has to be done.) Adding another to the list when I supposedly signed up via the web just pisses me off. I suspect it is an agent issue of not acting in a timely manner to web-requests. But finding a new agent is another PITA (because I don't plan on ditching SF because I get pretty damn good discounts for multiple lines and my history with them, which I discovered shopping around when I bought my house. And I don't want to deal with the paperwork of switching homeowners.) Hrm, wonder if I can fire&hire online too?

Sara, I am so with you-- I should've called and updated/changed my insurance last month when the bill came but I kept putting it off until I just had to pay it because it was the last day. Oops. But I didn't want to figure out what I needed --especially because I'd have to change house insurance too, if I was going to do car insurance somewhere else

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Amy, I love hardware stores. Which is why I think I will wait for the weekend to go shopping (probably) so I can browse to my heart's content.

That makes total sense to me, sarameg. Too bad they are being schmucks.

brillig

I ordered a Miskatonic University parking decal to put on the Jeep. It's going to go next to the old Mormon temple parking sticker that's already on it. Too much of a pain to try to take it off, I'll just have some fun with it instead.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Compare to these actual tintypes that were taken this year (including one of the last pictures of Phillip Seymour Hoffman). It was much harder to get a sharp picture with period gear.

It is harder to get a sharp image with actual tintype cameras, but according to some folks I know who actually do tintype photography, the ones featured in the article are not good examples. t /tintype hipster snobbery

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I wonder if there are any tintype classes I could find around here? I don't have the resources to own a camera or the other appurtenances (chemicals! darkroom!) but a class where those were supplied would be wonderous.

Snobbery is all well and good, but just getting a recognizable photograph out of that, let alone one that shows off so much character, is no mean achievement.

Ah, a rich full breakfast: Valencia orange, pork belly scrambled eggs , and coffee with cream.

I would prefer to now take a nap, but I will go to work instead.

And I just learned that it's "Math, Science & Physics Day" at Six Flags on Friday. Not something I'm going to go to, but what a good idea!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse, did you end up getting flowers for your mom?

I did, which was nice, especially since my father was not having a good day and she was already crying when I gave them to her.
