You can buy sterilized eggs or egg whites. I doubt there's much danger, though, because even though most factory eggs have salmonella, the bacteria has to have a chance to reproduce before there are enough to make adults sick. They're not going be doing much reproducing in the freezer.

Ooh, erika! Cool!
Mom came and we went to the train station for the Nat'l Train Day doings but there was nothing there. The depot wasn't even open, no signs, nothing. So we went to lunch and I checked the website on my phone and it still said there was stuff planned for today, so I don't know. I don't think I care quite enough to contact the person listed as the organizer and ask what happened, but I am put out.
Anyway, we hit the consignment store and the new bath salts and stuff like that store and found stuff to acquire at both, so that was nice. The consignment store cashier remembered me from last time I was in there, which might have been last fall. I should drop in more often, the are always getting new stuff in. The bath collection shop is relatively new and it's either been closed when I've gone by or I had Walter with me and didn't want to leave him while I browsed, so it was good to have the opportunity to check it out. I just got some peppermint-scented beef tallow soap with my Box o' Meat, so I couldn't justify buying all the soaps I liked (standout scents include Cut Grass and Violet), but I did find a clay facial mask to try and I've been looking for one of those since Rachel Perry disappeared. And now that I've browsed fairly thoroughly I can always dash in at the end of a run to pick up something quickly - there's a lamp post nearby where I could tie up Walter for a bit.
They found newsreel footage of the 1919 World Series buried in Canada. The permafrost preserved the film. [link] (There was lots of other footage there, too -- it was from an old movie theater, that was supposed to send all the film back to the studios when they were done showing it, but the guy in charge of that didn't do it.)
We have aquired clothing for the tween. Plus introduced her to the joy that is (or isn't) shopping at Nordstrom Rack. She was delighted by the whole thing, and now owns a sparkly black and bronze dress (with a bit of flapper profile, but no fringe) and a pair of Michael Kors sandals. I feel like I earned a maternal merit badge.
Oh and woot! erika!
Gold star, Burrell!
Yay! ::dances around with gold star::
I’m kind of freaking out about Mothers Day.
If you remember, a couple months back, my Mom called me and started complaining about how I never call her. I asked her if she had a reason to call me other than to yell at me, and then I hung up on her.
Then on my birthday, I got a card from her. Inside the card was a note saying, basically, sorry if I thought she was nagging me, but that I don’t really care about her or my sisters because I never call. [Note: my sisters and I are cool with each other].
I am so not looking forward to calling her tomorrow just to get in another fight with her. I don’t know what to do.
Ugh, Tom. I have no advice, but lots of hugs for you.
Can you give yourself permission to just cut the conversation short if she starts a fight?
