You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Fool seems to be something like pie filling layered with whipped cream, going by this recipe.

I'm such a drugstore gal, I didn't even think of that, lisah. I'm not up for super spendy (this was like $12 for a tube that lasted 6 weeks or so and even that makes me cringe) but samples is a good start. Cheaper than tubes of rejects. And for crying out loud, I had a great time sharing a table with her at your wedding!

sarameg, was it the Oil-Free Anti-Acne Moisturizer? That's the stuff I've loved for years, but finally had to accept that I just wouldn't be able to get it anymore. I've been using Clean&Clear's Dual-Action Moisturizer, which also has salicylic acid, and it feels very similar. (Bonus: I found it on the shelf at Kroger for way cheaper than the Neutrogena stuff I had to order online.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

For just about every drugstore brand, there are ways to get it a lot cheaper if you pay attention to the coupons and sales.

Healthy skin anti-blemish anti-wrinkle. I'm not sure the anti-wrinkle did anything but it was the perfect blend for not too heavy but still keeping the non-hormone/ non-cystic zits at bay.

I'd gotten it much cheaper (and in bulk) at drugstore.com. When I remembered to order before I ran out. Then it required the $12 and a trip to Ulta (which finally was the only place I could find it offline anymore.)

I fucking hate chasing coupon sales, sorry. I save my Bloodbath, petstore and hardware cards mailers when I know I have something I'm getting there soon, but I'm not going to chase them. I chase after enough, I have little patience for else.

Sorry. Just trying to help.

I highly recommend the Paula's Choice anti-aging stuff (it's a little pricier than drugstore, but most of it isn't too crazy, and you can get samples of all of it). This stuff in particular is amazing--makes my skin not flaky, but doesn't irritate, and also feels kinda moisturizing.

The day moisturizer (with SPF) is pretty good too--I liked this one:

No, it wasn't you in particular. Someone at working lunch just went on and on and on about couponing today in the most smug and sanctimonious manner and it just made me tired and tetchy. I shouldn't have been so snappy about it, apologies.

(Also, they made me want to go poison all bees, buy a gun and shoot cute things, drive leaded gas guzzlers and pave my yard with uranium and lead. Hit all the high points, for sure.)

Ah, yis. This happens whenever someone brings up the Ant-Man movie, and my rant usually ends with, "Hank Pym makes me want to start a war just because he's a pacifist."

I have fun playing with the numbers with couponing. Plus, free/cheap stuff. (Though right now it's annoying me, because I figured out a really great deal on sunscreen, but it requires buying two specific types of sunscreen in the same purchase at Rite Aid, and of the two Rite Aids I usually go to, each one carries one of those types, but neither carries both.)
