I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

We had a "bomb threat" at school today. Luckily I was in the office when it happened so I knew to go gather my things in case we were outside for a long time. Which we weren't.

"bomb threat" as in a drill or a fake out call?

Third day in a row of karate! No more until Monday. I have plans to go dancing tomorrow night. Yay, physical activity!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG this day!

That was me yesterday! Today I have half-price chocolate and also less to do. Oooh, and actually, the day flew by -- I guess I had exactly the right amount to do!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Thanks for soothing my fears, everyone. Since I am 50 now, I think that once I get back from vacation, I will woman up and take a Valium and go get a mammogram. Really, it can't be as bad as I fear it is, or no one would ever do it twice.

Right now, I should be packing, but I'm anxiety-procrastinating. Hey, at least I know what I'm doing.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I have baked bread, done three loads of laundry, sent job hunt emails, sent my application for a gothy vending event, fed the crows, and had lunch. I want glittery star stickers for my productivity.

If only I could say I didn't have anything else to get done today. But no. Writing, more laundry, and bookcase culling.

Work has been somewhat quiet the last week and a half, mostly because a lot of people seem to be out of office. Now that I've determined that I need to create training materials & present them in a couple of weeks, guess what has happened to my inbox?

If you guessed that the work fairy took a poop in it, you get a cookie.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Argh, this fucking day! I went to get something out of the big freezer at work, and a bunch of stuff fell off the top of it. Including a computer monitor, which fell on my foot. My jaw is tense and so are my shoulders.

Then there's the weather. Major rain storms, which led to me spending too much time in my car. Didn't even get to my appointment this afternoon due to the traffic, and the fact that the road I was taking to my appointment was closed due to flooding.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I just washed 7 loads of laundry. They are now drying, and I am in Starbucks, soaking in the air conditioning and free wifi and the people watching. Favs so far are the guy in the cowboy hat and the British flag socks and the guy checking out (and rejecting) his tindr options. Least favorite = the loud mouth working deals on the phone. But I do like the black woman who keeps sharing eyerolls with me. She's leaving, along with most everyone else, because loud mouth.

Seven loads is a lot of laundry.

I backed into a column in the parking garage this morning and put a huge dent in my rental car. Also, I have cramps. But I did manage to submit the report that was due today that I was afraid I'd have to write on the plane. I need to be energetic and awake when I land so I can go work out, so I don't break my workout streak (still going since 1/1, can't break it now!)

I got a mile in before they kicked me out.

I also shopvac'd up 4 buckets of water in the basement, had a repaired roof leak re-appear under the heaviest rains and declogged the drains on one of my flowerpots. In a thunderstorm.

Also, this happened not far from here: [link] (ps, it is a landslide, not a sinkhole. Assuming the retaining wall failed. Which seems logical.)

I guess I won't be hearing the whistle of the 6 am train tomorrow...
