It's raining so hard it sounds like a street sweeper is out on the front porchand Loki wants to go the fuck out.
My dog, on the other hand, is crashed out on the couch and probably should go out again before we go to bed but, dag, do I not want to go out in this cold mess! bleh
My Y locker room convos and fb feed were full of dogs' refusals to go out in this shit.
I offered the deck. Loki looked appalled, Pumpkin offended. And now Lokes is attacking the front door. Pumpkin is on the radiator. Know where the brains are.
I saw on FB that a friend from Tabletalk (not a buffistas) who I hadn't seen since 2002 (she lives in Toronto) was in the town I had just flown to. We ended up having dinner! So weird to think she was my age when we "met", and I was 22. Now I both get why they found me entertaining and also I feel very old. Plus, dinner was deliciousness. And happy hour! Gnocchi with snap peas and bacon, Brussels sprouts and kale, and tagliatelle with shrimp. Plus dessert and a couple drinks...so full.
Mmm, that sounds delicious and fun!
Remind me that I need to try making enoki gnocchi at some point. Just to be able to say it.
Wheeee! Up at 4:45 for tornado sirens. I'm a morning person, but that's pushing it. The worst of it went east of me. I hope the Durham-istas are ok.

I am so tired of tights and boots and warm coats, but it won't get out of the 40s here until Friday, I think.

Which reminds me, I scheduled a mammogram for today after work, and the instruction say not to wear deodorant or perfume. Should I really go all day with no deodorant? I guess I'll be inside an air-conditioned office, not out in the heat, but still.
And that reminds me: after I made the appointment the system tells me to be there 10 minutes before my appointment time. I feel pretty strongly that my appointment time should be the time I need to be there and they should make the scheduling work for that. Doesn't seem that hard. I'm glad I didn't cut it close and pick the time that I could barely get to, because I wouldn't have been able to make 10 minutes early, that's for sure.
