And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

This is one of the places I wonder if they'd say "in Europe". Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

In this case he might've - I had asked if the charge was in Canada since I last used it in Toronto and he said "no, in Africa". But yeah.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

and oh for a way to do that without a slash, but I couldn't figure one out

Father+daughter. Thanks, fandom.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

To go way back, I always say goodbye when I leave. And usually there is an "I love you" in case I die in a carwreck. Of if it's a quick trip to the post office or the store, an "I'll be right back."

Yikes, Burrell. I'm so sorry.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That's good news, Connie.

Oh shit. Health~ma, Burrell.

I liked the Karen Sisco movie and tv show.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Nothing~ma and easy-anesthesia~ma to you in abundance, Burrell.

Love Scrappy's husband.

I had a dream last night in which Hec and I somehow acquired a kitten, mostly white with little brown freckly patches all over (sort of an appaloosa kitten); it was very charming and engaging and hypoallergenic and we were quite happy. Then we left to go visit my mom, who had acquired a bulldog-pekinese crossbreed; it looked like a shaggy squash-faced teddy bear and was easily the most adorable imaginary animal I've ever seen inside my brain. Now I need to go exploring the internets and see whether any such crossbreed really exists, and whether it's anything like the dream!pup.

Last night while I was here, chatting with y'all about ADHD and such, CJ was working at the dojo and the instructor team all took the Personality Type test. CJ came up ESTP. Part of the description is...

The ESTP often has trouble in school, especially higher education which moves into realms where theory is more important. The ESTP gets bored with classes in which they feel they gain no useful material which can be used to get things done. The ESTP may be brilliantly intelligent, but school will be a difficult chore for them.

Great.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse! Have you been using my credit card? Chase says someone "in Africa" tried, so I think we all know what's going on here.

Dag, brenda - you know I work for a nonprofit! You can't cover just one or two tequila shots??

So I haven't even gotten on the long flight home yet, and I'm already upset about the long layover I have in New York tomorrow morning. I can't decide if I will be more or less upset if the immigration line means I need all of those hours.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh! My route home took me past your house yesterday. I waved. Did you feel it?

Yes! Next time, if you are feeling up to it you should stop by and come in.

Thanks for the good vibes and well wishes, everybody. It's a type of cancer that doesn't metastasize, so as long as we caught it before it got too invasive, surgery should be simple. It'll be in a couple weeks, right after the semester ends. As for anesthesia, turns out I'm very sensitive to it, so it can make me pass out. Luckily it takes a much smaller dose to medicate the area too. But still, makes me nervous when I know they need to use it.

Good luck, Burrell, I hope it goes smoothly.

I ran away from zombies up in the woods this morning: the dog and I both got soaked and muddy since it's raining. But it was still fun.

... and now my fingers have gone numb and yellow, damn it. No more Claritin.

Travel safe, Jesse!

Because books.

What Consuela said, Burrell. Fingers crossed for an easy procedure.

Get home safe, Jesse!
