"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Wow, man, there's a lot more insanity in the world than I remember. Remind me not to go back out there. When do I get to just be a full-time misanthrope and not have to deal with people? That's one of my constitutional rights, yes?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

When do I get to just be a full-time misanthrope and not have to deal with people?

Let me know when you find out.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'm jealous of all the people getting to travel to exotic places for work (although I think I'd get tired of work travel pretty quick)!

Does Independence, Missouri count as exotic? Because that's where I'm headed to on Thursday. (As a GoH at a costuming convention.)

Maria, you and your family are in my thoughts.

Punishingly Intricate

Independence, MO is possibly more exotic than Woodlawn, MD which is where I usually get to go for work.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What are the symptoms of oatmeal poisoning?

Scottish accent.

Shit, I'm in an at risk group!

Maria, I hope it's as nothing as possible for your father.

And Sue, I don't even know...

I did the global selfie during lunch break: [link]

My "Wait, Did I Know That?" fact of the day: Al Jazeera is owned by the government of Qatar, and therefore its employees technically are considered government officials under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Wow, so no bribing Al Jazeera employees, eh?

I'm jealous of all the people getting to travel to exotic places for work (although I think I'd get tired of work travel pretty quick)!

Um, I'm going to...uh....Portland and LA and Detroit and Connecticut the next two weeks? I'm excited about CT because I get to see Sowilo. The others would be ok except I'll be there less than 24 hours generally.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Does Independence, Missouri count as exotic?

Not in the slightest.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I don't travel for work at all.(I'm not in a position where I'd be presenting at conferences.) Any travel, exotic or not, I do is strictly for fun.

Like this weekend. We're going to Toronto for FilKOntario, where Gary is Filk Waif.(Their name for the toastmaster/master of ceremonies.)

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

My work travel was almost all to nuclear plants. They generally do not put nuclear plants in exotic places, unless you consider places like Wadsworth, Texas; Oswego, N.Y.; or Baxley, Ga., exotic.

I spent all day getting a blood transfusion. I feel like I spent the day being hit by a baseball bat.

Dear Nurse,

If you're wiggling an IV in someone's hand and that person is whimpering, it's superfluous to ask, "Does that hurt?"
