No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

I'm drinking iced coffee because apparently I still needed more sleep, but I didn't discover this until after making the coffee. And cats. Cats, man. Motivation to do everything on my list today cannot compete with 2 warm cats draped across me. But this house isn't getting clean by itself. Nor paint removed or added or nails done.

Aaand, I will not be working on the railing. The stripper I bought yesterday has turned. So I'll be returning that next weekend since they are closed today.

But I got to meet a very cute visiting doxie.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Thanks.

Catlap is a real and serious condition.

The stripper I bought yesterday has turned.

Your day sounds much more exciting than mine.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The stripper I bought yesterday has turned.

Darned Commie strippers.

I have repotted and trimmed dead ends from the four patio plants that went through the late frost. I think they'll survive. I tried to trim back the azalea that's in front of my spigot, so I could connect the hose, but I couldn't get through the thing with my shears - too many large limbs. I want to just remove it; whoever planted a large bush in front of the spigot, the cable box, and the electric meter was a big dummy. Every year it's a struggle with poky branches and spiderwebs to get behind it, and this year it has won; the space belongs to the azalea and none shall pass! Until I hire a guy with a tractor to rip the thing out by the roots. Victory shall be mine. Q'apla.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I am so sorry, ita, and you too Sheryl.

Happy Easter everybody!

I am attempting to grade on my down time today, but I keep getting distracted by the food and the family and the BABY! Baby cousin is crazy cute, as is his toddler sister.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, I lost my azalea (I'm not even sure how, it wasn't out and exposed during any frosts, I don't think, but sometimes plants just die) so I'm sorry to hear your thriving specimen is badly placed. OTOH, I was just out watering the grapevine and it's got loads of tiny proto-grapes already. Exciting!

Man, I have so much more stuff that needs doing than that I have gotten done, or can reasonably expect to do in the near future. Disheartening.

brillig

Hubby put in a planter box under the bedroom window. After helping him, I was sitting on the porch gazing at the neighbor's lawn. "Those tulips are pretty," I said.

"We could get you some," he said.

"I don't garden, sweetheart."

"No, it would be easy, get some lumber, dig out a piece of lawn next to the house, break it up some, dig a hole, drop in the bulbs, water it a good bit to start it, then keep an eye on it."

"Did you hear me say I don't garden?"

edit: I am cat, content to gaze at the world. He is big galumphing dog, eager to go to all lengths to please. Mixed marriages are tricky.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Damn, Debet. In a good way, of course.

Thanks again for the sympathy. Still waiting for word on the funeral. Sheryl, best of strength to your family.

Suzi, I hope you manage to navigate the day around the pain. Past, indeed.

The stripper I bought yesterday has turned.

Imagining pert butt in chaps. Not least of all because we saw a nice one in Orphan Black this week.

I am going through my folder of fanart ideas list, instead of just looking for pictures I want to turn into same. It's much harder this way, obviously, but I think I'm pleased with how the last one turned out. Now I have to work out the next stop on his quest.

Man, I'm ravenous. One of my staples is the blueberry Kind granola, but I like it best when it's had time to soak up plenty of milk, and I never remember to set up a bowl beforehand. Between anticipation of that and the crockpot chili I have going, I think my stomach is going to beat the fuck out of my brain.

Okay, time for weekly Ja call. Somehow I managed to get my phone number on a Jamaican spam list--I've had two robocalls about Jamaican something something (more accurately sinting sinting) and I can't work out why. I don't get any other sales robocalls.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Thanks ita. It did go migraine so I turned my room into a cave, medicated, and napped, missing out on Easter dinner. I just had a salad - wheeeee. Head still hates me. I'd crawl back in bed but if I do, I won't be able to sleep tonight. Instead I'm watching Tangled with the volume really low.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So this morning, I said something to my mother about Anthony Mackie, and she starts saying, "I knew about the Falcon, but didn't realize that was him!" I was like, "???" Come to find out, my father was a Marvel guy (I had no idea) and brought a shitload of comic books into their marriage, and my mother made him throw them all away!
