Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yeah, I feel like there could be a punishment that doesn't hurt everyone....Not that I know what it is.
I travel enough that I got complacent about my packing skills.
I don't even travel that much (...typically), but am totally complacent about my travel supplies and their organization, which sometimes leads to showing up somewhere with no toothpaste or whatever.
He'll blow that load.
Oh myyyyyy.
My father seems fine at the nursing home, although my mother is now full of regret and thinks it's not nice enough. But the people seemed great! And we can bring in decor.
Ha, shrift, I do that all the time too. I sometimes "remember" packing something that was in fact packed for the last trip not this one.
Eeesh, Sox, that's no fun to hear.
Today I discovered frozen homemade calzones, so I was happy that past me took such good care of present me. I also have frozen chili thawing. Past me was apparently very industrious.

Yes, I think a punishment can be doled out that doesn't punish everyone.
Jesse, I think it is quite natural that your mother would be having mixed feelings. Making it homier will help all of you.
Making it homier will help all of you.
This is very true.
Does your dad have a sports team he is fond of, or was fond of as a kid?
Mmmm, ribs and calzones both sound amazing. Not to mention chili. I'm back on jell-o and broth, myself. At least I have jell-o and broth ready to go, so it's easy.

Haha, no. People keep talking to us about baseball (at the hospital and the nursing home both), and the other day, my mother said to him, "You could become a Red Sox fan!" and he just laughed and laughed. Good times.
yeah - it's just an easy visual to add to rooms and to bring back fond memories, also conversation started with staff/visitors.
Timelies all!
Folks are here.(In fact my dad is checking his e-mail on Gary's computer) When Gary gets home, we'll head to his mom's for dinner.
Eeesh, Sox, that's no fun to hear.
Yah. It's incorrect, and also was delivered mostly because we are going out of state for Mother's Day - the first we haven't spent with them in 10 years.
Jesse - hugs to you and your mom.
Liese, he knows I'm a big nerd. I've known him and his wife for...almost 25 years. They are awesome, some of the best people I know. Truth FTW!
I always leave my strawberries out of the fridge to warm before eating, because I think they taste sweeter that way. Then my husband puts them back in the fridge. And I eat fruit bought at the farmer's market straight outta the bag. Who needs washing?! Former farm girl, here; I figure I've eaten enough dirt to fill a small raised bed.
