I'm sure everyone here knows this, but perhaps this could be useful if someone you know is complaining about first-amendment rights every time someone suffers consequences for what they say. (You know, those times where the government had nothing to do with the consequences.)

Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Your poor girl. She is not made for this world, is she? But she's come such a long way.
The Biscuit is currently in a similar state of bewilderment because the SO is gone. He knows when it's going to happen when he sees him start to pack and gets all worked up. Poor boo. It's gotten worse the older he's gotten. I'm not too sure how he's going to handle this summer's travels. But then we'll be on sabbatical, so he'll have us all to himself all year.
Did I talk about that yet? We're taking a sabbatical. We've been at this for thirteen years and we're beat. Typically it's done every 4-5 years, but we've never done one. So we have this summer's fundraising (camp) and then a year off. We'll study (I think we're going to do some Berklee school of music internet courses), travel, read, relax, vacation some. But mostly recuperate from what has been a hellish last year plus a lot of long years of toil. (Those of you who are our donors will be getting a letter about this shortly.) So, yay.
Oh, ion, paging Erin: your buddy Lawrence wants to know how we met! Haha. All I've told him so far is that you and I go way back. How much do you want him to know? Heh.
Wow, Liese. That's so great. (And envy-inducing.)
I am both pretty amped about it and terrified. I can totally see myself spending the whole year futzing around on Fallen London and getting nothing accomplished and feeling crappier than ever when I return. AND this week we had to tell the students about it and a couple of the older ones cried and that was hard to take. But I am also really looking forward to it.
She's snoring now, so it appears the imminent danger has passed!
That is a great thing, Liese. I'm sure it will be reenergizing.
CJ and a friend at school were talking and the other kid said something about "Emo kids are ruining it all for the Goth kids" (no clue what specifically inspired the comment). CJ recommended that the guy read Gothic Charm School and he already had!!! So now CJ has bonus points for knowing Jilli (or being one degree away from knowing Jilli).
Oh, and Epic, I think I didn't respond, but I don't think I know your person! Lots of people knew Rich, so sometimes I do know them and sometimes I don't.
Need help:
Just got a call from the principal at Noah's school. He threw a rock at (or near) another student. The kid caught the rock and threw it over the fence. Then another kid punched the kid who caught the rock (I'm not sure why).
So all of that is bad.
But it took an hour to untangle what happened because Noah did not tell the truth of what happened.
We're supposed to go to Legoland. So I think I have to cancel it right? Even though Grace was excited about going too? And Polgara was coming with us?
I actually know the answer.
