brillig

In today's WTF headline/news story:

I liked the line "He, and his severed penis, were taken to Cedars-Sinai." It's like "He and his estranged wife" or something. Like they had to convince the penis to go to the same location as the idiot who broke up with him/it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Tep (or anyone who might know) - I took a Claritin this morning, think I followed it up with a Zyrtec as I often do and just now added an Allegra to the mix (because I didn't have my preventative med that I know doesn't interact with the others and I have an annoying amount of allergy symptoms still). My heart's not going to explode or anything, right?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

That's a whole lot of antihistamines you've got going on there! I feel your pain, because my head is stuffy but my nose is also runny. Stupid pollen.

I strongly suspect you'll live, but I also don't think that's a good combination to repeat. It really IS a whole lot of antihistamines. Have you tried taking 2 Claritin (or 2 Zyrtec or 2 Allegra) -- without any additional antihistamine? Sometimes doubling up on the same one works really well.

Also, now that Nasacort is OTC, have you tried adding that? It'll take a week or so to really take effect, but it should be helpful.

Because books.

Nasacort

Is that the spray? I keep forgetting about that one.

Nasacort

It is. It only recently became available OTC, but since it's a steroid and not an actual antihistamine, it works differently, and generally pretty well, and is safe to use with antihistamines.

Because books.

I think Sara's got allergies -- she's been coughing up a storm since the other day, and she doesn't have a fever. Poor noodle. She sounds so ragged.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I didn't know Nasacort is OTC now. I ought to give that a try.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Stupid finds a way.

That is the truth.

My grandboss just called a meeting with my team to get some feedback. Afterward, my super-eager and slightly longwinded new hire went to tell him some more stuff. I walked in a couple of minutes later because I had a scheduled meeting with the grandboss. He was CLEARLY trying to get her to wrap up, and she just....kept going. Luckily, I knew this about her already and have a good relationship with him, because I was pre-mortified by the time she left.

Thanks! I haven't tried Nasacort. I've been using Nasalcrom with some success, but that's prevention only, not treatment. I'll pick some up when I go to the drugstore after work (the more times I repeat that I am going to the drugstore, the more likely I will remember to actually go. Drugstore. After work.)

The Claritin and Zyrtec both have big DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN ONE DOSE IN A DAY notices in the documentation, though I am really not taking another of either today because they are at home and I am at work where the Allegra lives...I suspect what I really need right now is Benadryl, but I don't have that to hand either...
