Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A hundred dollars a MONTH?! That's horrifying. There's some challenge thing going on at my office, but you just get free six weeks at the gym. (at the gym I'll never go to, because it's full of coworkers.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yep. $100 a month. [link]

Because books.

That's insane.

brillig

We've got that thing too, Hil, we attend quarterly lectures and fill out quizzes at the end. So far nothing invasive or participatory.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

A month????

We get a one time $100 bonus if we do submit, but I haven't yet because I a) have a little paranoid/conspiracy theory that it will be someday used against me and b) I am fat and will fail the BMI, and possibly waist circumference. I used to work in the department that administers them, and they do everything so manually that I can't believe that the data can't be traced back to me somehow.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Hil,

I have been following that because a lot of faculty at Penn State are ticked. It's in the Chronicle I think.

My previous place encouraged all kinds of wellness behaviors through multiple email messages because if they got a certain percentage to enroll in this or that, we got a group discount.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

submit to a "health screening," or pay an extra $100 a month for health insurance.

For comparison, at my workplace I have to complete the annual health screening in order to qualify to enroll in the healthcare plan at all.

But if I jump through some extra hoops (things like providing documentation of my dental exams, my vision exam, and my flu shot) I can get up to $250 on my company rewards debit card.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just wrote some web page copy for my new boss that he asked me if I used a resource to generate.

My brain!

Also the pain of the soldiers that fell before me...

But I would love to know where I could get copy help like that. Save my poor neurons.

It's cool and dry enough outside that I threw open the windows and am airing the house out. After a month of having it shut up.

The cats are loving it, though there was a moment when the neighborhood grey cat ventured up on the porch. Pumpkin has quite an expressive war cry! Loki's is steady, but she throws in warbles and vibrato.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm watching Rachel Maddow tonight and you know how she usually has this dry ironic thing going on? Well she just channeled her inner Olbermann and gave a passionate rant about the VA Governor and San Diego Mayor for reducing the already tarnished image of public service. I kinda felt like apologizing myself, and I haven't been harassing employees or taking suspicious kickbacks.
