I spent the whole day packing boxes at my sister's apartment. About 20 boxes went to Council Thrift, mostly books but also some glassware. Also put together 7 more boxes of first editions to give to the friend who collects and sells books. I am beat. Plus no brain. Not enough brain to help with the dummy abstract, sorry.
'Never Leave Me'
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That's exhausting stuff, Burrell.
I've been sorting my boss's magazine collection in preparation for donating them to a college theatre department. He had Lighting Dimensions dating back to 1978!
I just finished my taxes with two days to spare!
All the books in my mom's place fit into one small box. (She traded away most of the ones she had read, but her reading really slowed down in the last year because of her health.)
Timelies all!
Nice and warm today. Things are supposed to cool down a bit by the end of the week.(Just in time for my folks' visit.)
I need to do my taxes and run three miles today (and do some laundry and wash some dishes, of course), but my internal organs are all complain-y. Bah.
Ha, Strix! You've done blather before, clearly.
Meara, more seriously, I do think it's the subtext they're queering. When given a "gay guy hits on me" scene, it could have gone many ways, but apparently it was only the actor's decision to make it romcom meet cute awkward as opposed to all the other kinds of shaming that could have happened. He scopes men's asses and gives them flirty winks, but the text is never going to say "FADE TO BLACK--DEAN AND MALE CHARACTER HEATEDLY ENTWINED". I'll eat my hat if they make him bi on paper.
TAXES. I should do them before the nurse comes with medication...
I'm sitting at an outdoor hotel bar outside Philadelphia. It'll be hours before any of the rest of the family arrive, so I'm trying to pace my bellinis, but I'm bored to tears already.
Offer on our house! Praise Jesus.
Where outside Philly, Polgara?
Yay, Dana!
We just lowered the price again on Wednesday, but the offer is for the full price. At this point, I'd give them my never-to-exist firstborn to just take the damn thing.
