You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

We had a summer student a few years ago who was just about to graduate to the same uni I went to. He got v. excited when I told him I went there, and asked me when I graduated. I said, 1991 and...there was this long pause. Then he said. "Oh. I was born in 1990."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

junk food that doesn't have nasty preservatives or anything that you can't pronounce in it.

Like quinoa?

Steph, my low-glycemic diet is supposed to be step one of anti-inflammatory. The steps I remember but didn't instil were the "only eat Asian mushrooms" and "fishy fish oil." This diet is what I'm supposed to be fully on, but honestly, low gly made a difference right away so I got complacent. I do have Japanese birch mushrooms in my crisper, but they've probably grown LA mushrooms on top by now.

The last time I filled out a dating site, I put 23-50 (I was ~40). It seemed reasonable enough, but being 63 isn't something I'd automatically cut someone off for, because I've met some rocking OLD oldies.

Um, totally.

...no wait, I'm 36. My ex is 25, though? :)

I think my current age range on the site is listed as 30-44. Even though the ex was 25, it's not a normal age I go for. :)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I walked a 5K this morning and have invited people over to hang out, also have the people who we have been dog sitting for (just a one night thing). My house has been McFee free for 4 days (she's had a stomach yuck), so I need to do at least some cleaning. My brain however is scattered, so.. list time.

litter
guest bath
spot carpet where cats puked
trash out
vacuum

sounds like a good quick clean, yes?

I already have a load of laundry in, because none has been done and I did manage to get the dishwasher run this week and have mac empty it.

The good news is that the paint comes off my metal porch railing really well. Except where it doesn't. Bad news is where it doesn't and I won't get to priming the bases of the remaining 19 indoor spindles today.

I'm crazy. Need to buy more stripper tomorrow.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse, yes, all kinds of patio furnishings, plus all the lawn ornaments you'll ever need.

Plus Utz cheese popcorn, the best snack of all! Maybe I can get my mother to take me next weekend. After we go to Jordan's Furniture.

Because we (a) don't want to be that weirdo old person perving on young folks who are like 'ew', but we also feel like most people our age on the dating sites look WAY older. And (b) we don't know how high to make the age, because, people look old, but then we know some people who are totally cool and sexy, who are much older.

Yeah, I'm not going to lie, I do occasionally think someone "in their 40s" would be too old for me. I AM IN MY FORTIES!!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Interesting. I didn't know low-glycemic could have that effect. Honestly, I think any dietary change is going to be his last choice. He's kind of stubborn about what he eats (in addition to being a vegetarian who doesn't eat many veggies [hence my 2014 quest to get more veggies in our meals -- I just got him to drink a green smoothie today]).
