I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's not good, meara.

Glad she came home, Suzi.

I am finally making kale salad! Out of something called "green kale" that looks very different from the dino kale I am used to. The leaves did not seem like they would take well to chiffonade so I just started at the top of the bunch and chopped until I got to the stems. What seemed like a manageable bunch of kale thus was transformed into a fuckload of kale confetti. 3.5 oz of grates pecorino romano seems like quite a lot, for the record. I hope I like this, because there is quite a bit of it.

I didn't realize until I had already started that the recipe ends with "let the salad sit a room temperature for an hour before serving". Oops. So I'm having scrambled eggs (beaten in the same container I whisked the dressing in, and then scrambled in browned butter which was accidental but quite tasty) to keep my strength up until I can finally see what kale salad is all about.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Talked to my mum. Apparently my Christmas visit reintroduced brussel sprouts into the family menu, and they've been eating them at least once a week ever since.

brillig

Finally got the form from the energy company about the lease payment. Cover letter says checks went out in order of people returning paperwork. I would have a few days lag on that, being so far away. The paperwork is in regards to people named as my grandfathers heirs having died without wills and so messing up the flow of inheritance. The cover letter pointed out that there's a lot of money in this deal and they're going to dot all Is and cross all t's.

So, good news: $15,644.44! Bad news, the damned thing needs to be notarized, which I won't be able to do till Friday, then returned, then perused, then the check sent. So a couple of weeks yet. I wonder if I can file taxes, then file an amended when the money's actually in place? but we're talking to H&R Bloch Friday as well.

Hang in there, car!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Question for Steph: ever since I finished my 5-day course of azithromycin (Z-Pack) I've been extremely fatigued. Like, sleep all day tired. Is this a normal reaction, or am I dealing with something else?

I know I've had that experience after the Z-pak, and I think other people said they experienced it, too (maybe Jilli?). It's possible that it's something else, but maybe give it a little more time. When was your last dose?

Mmmm. I had Brussels sprouts tonight. I feel so virtuous when I eat them. And they're so tasty!

Our wings are not tired.

Awesome news, Connie!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

io9 is about 8 years late on that article.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I know I've had that experience after the Z-pak, and I think other people said they experienced it, too (maybe Jilli?). It's possible that it's something else, but maybe give it a little more time. When was your last dose?

Took the last dose last Friday. So it's been five days. Fatigue started on Sunday, I think. I'd rather it was a reaction to the Z-pak than something ELSE I'd have to deal with, you know?

How long does azithromycin stay in the body after the last dose?

I appreciate you as a font of drug information!

About a week. The idea behind the z-pak, is that, because of the long half-life, you only take 5 days of pills, but they hang around in your system for twice as long.

My not-a-doctor guess is that you'll start feeling better in a day or two.

Okay, fact I just learned: Kai Ryssdal flew planes off the aircraft carrier Roosevelt. He's not just an NPR personality, but also a badass! (and born in Canada, naturally).

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I bought brussel sprouts tonight and am planning on roasting them tomorrow.

I need the hivemind. CJ's search and rescue team puts out a new shirt design every couple of years and it is time to come up with something new. The last one we did had a silhouette of 3 members hiking in the woods and said "Support Arapahoe Rescue Patrol". Kinda basic. Popular shirts have had a funny element. One says "Support ARP" on the front and "Get lost" on the back. The other says "Delaying Natural Selection since 1957".

Any creative ideas for a new search and rescue related, fun tagline?
