Oh yeah, sports yelling? Totally different thing.

Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yeah Franny! That's great. I don't know the principal there anymore, but Mary K Powers is still a vice principal. Is it the gifted magnet? The librarian there (whose name escapes me) was wonderful. I wonder if she is still there.
Yes, the gifted magnet. The principal is newish, I haven't heard good or bad about him yet. I think he gets to coast a bit on the fact that the school already works well.
I am Jessica WRT yelling. I do not yell at work, but that may have as much to do with the power dynamics of teaching as anything else. Boss doesn't yell at his faculty, and we sure don't yell at him. Students don't exactly flourish when their professors yell, so I don't yell at them either. But the kids? They escalate to shouting right away, and I usually take the bait and yell too even though I know better.
I just found out the last member of my former team was laid off today, making me the last man standing. (My soon-to-be-former boss being in the most awkward position of having been told there is no place for her on the new org chart, but being asked to stick around "for a while" anyway. And both of us really want me to take her job title when she goes except I can't do that until the company actually lays her off!)
This doesn't even approach the John H. Natter diet, but it's what I've got, so…
Kat, I'm sorry to hear about your friends' baby.
Ita, I'm sorry things aren't better for you.
Jessica, please tell Fone he was the best edit that ever crossed my path at TWoP. He took the job seriously, and did so well (even with my flakiness). I'm sorry you (and we) are going through this job loss. :(
Stay perky, Natter.
Hey there Cindy! Nice to see you 'round here. I hope a new job swoops you up soon.
ita, that drawing is really wonderful, and I say that as someone who doesn't watch SPN. But it tells such a story!
Cindy!
It's days like today that make me really wish I would get my garage transformed like I want and get a heavy bag. I NEED TO HIT THINGS.
Thanks Cindy - it's a big blow to our household and the internet, for sure!
I was up late last night, partly because I went to see Captain America 2, and partly because I did not go to bed immediately when I got home from CA2. As a result, I am very, very sleepy and trying to drink enough coffee to not fall asleep in the poutine I'm schedule to be having for dinner: [link]
I may have to give that pierogie "poutine" a try.
I'm responding very slowly to my inbox, but one problem got solved while I was avoiding it, and I think I actually did a better job at thinking through another problem and what additional information I needed.
Paid new hire went to lunch and never came back. I texted a non confrontational "are you alright?" And it took her another hour and a half for her to state that she'd gone home sick. I told her to get well and let me know if she'd be into work tomorrow. No response.
I'm going to sit her down in private if I ever see her again, but damn, not a good impression for someone who's angling for a more permanent position, let alone someone who might want to keep what paid hours she has.
