Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I maintain you can do it nicely, and just had a great conversation with a driver from Cote D'Ivoire by just starting out with "I don't recognise your accent--where's it from?"

Not about cab drivers, but I just found out background information about two coworkers in the last two workdays in ways that seemed OK. One, I asked her about how people mess up her name, and the other I asked where she grew up, because it was relevant to a vaccination question we were discussing. It turned out to be Zimbabwe, which was a surprise! t /vaguely related

I was all set to go ask for sympathy from my parents, but my mother had a tooth pulled today! So I was very sympathetic toward her instead.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I missed something with the Mozilla guy. I think this is going to add to the people at work calling Firefox Mozilla, which drives me batty

I also can't stop laughing because a Facebook friend who is named Bethany keeps getting called Stebany. Because people mishear her name as Stephanie, and she says No, Bethany with a B.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I use Moves, but I would love to have a straight-up pedometer on my Pebble instead, because then I could count steps when I don't have pockets.

I have been told that the word "pesto" is derived from the same root as "pestle" and anything that has been ground up in a pestle can reasonably be called pesto.

By this derivation, was the basil/garlic/pine nut goop I mixed into tonight's pizza sauce properly called food processto?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hey, I didn't bring what things should properly called into it. I'll defend your right to call it food processto if you want to.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

stumbles into thread I have finished today's to-do list, in spite of wanting to do nothing but sleep and take pain meds for the Lyme flare-up that's been going on for a week or so. Someone please come make me dinner and cocktails.

I just used uber for the first few times this weekend. Quite liked it. Very easy.

I think it's probably easier/less likely to be offensive from someone who is also not from here, ita. Though I've certainly gotten into chats with cabbies about wherever they're from , usually because we start with the weather and they then compare it to morocco or Ethiopia or wherever. (The Moroccan guy then found out I'm from Indiana, and said he wants to go there because he hears there are big girls, and he likes parks and rec, but his wife won't let him!)

Punishingly Intricate

My fitbit says I averaged 22 flights of stairs a day last week. Moving up to the 4th floor of the building certainly helps with that count at least.

I've been avoiding news about the CEO of Mozilla because quitting using Firefox would be a PITA. Too many open tabs.

My excuse right now is passwords I don't want to have to try to remember. I just read this news about 20 minutes ago so I'll give myself a guilt break for a little longer. I've already had to deal with not being able to remember passwords at work today. I have a system and everything but there's always some system that's password is out of sync with others and I can never keep them all straight.

I'm slowly developing a system, but a lot of it is too little too late. There are too many, and some of them are too old.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Tomorrow is the Big Day Of Awkwardness where I might show up to work with boss lady in a meeting being fired and I'ma be outside raking something, or I show up and she hasn't had her termination meeting yet and I have to explain the new hires delay and make fake plans for the week and then go outside and rake something while she packs up her (our) office.

Please, ED, don't fail me now. You're my only hope to dodge this "hi, I helped get you fired" bullet.

Felt like I was hit by a truck today, pretty sure it was cause of the stain fumes messing with my sleep. Swim felt like repeatedly hitting a truck, and lo and behold, it was also cause I was going faster than usual. I guess that's good? Feel less like ass.

So of course I came home and primered 2 sides of 12 spindles (and one side of 3.) Not to the tops or bottoms, but as close as I could get without getting worried about messing something up. Pumpkincat would like to attack the brush from the opposite side. This is problematic.
