I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions.

Loki the Obnoxious managed to clear everything off the bedroom table, including the alarm clock. Then he started trying to knock/dig me out of bed. And at some point, shredded a roll of paper towels I stupidly left out. All before 6:30 am.

Pumpkin even got tired of his antics disturbing her sleep and left the bed to go sleep in the chair.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, I slept terribly, and now (related) think I have to go into the office. I considered bringing my computer home last night, but I was going to dinner with a friend and decided not to. And I think it's really not worth doing stuff here with no Office. So the dentist and work, that's an exciting Saturday.

I'm going to be varnishing. And varnishing. And staining (deck set.)

After market and errands. Looks like the rain is pushing out, so I'll walk to market.

information libertarian

msbelle, I like Khan Academy for me as a refresher (like, when I have totally forgotten how to do something.) I haven't used the self-paced study features. I would be interested to hear how it goes. I find the guy really mellow and nice-sounding, which is good.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'll second what flea says about Khan academy. I've been using it to re-learn some things about statistics that I'd nearly forgotten.

Also, one thing I appreciate is that the word problems on there are clearly written with a diverse audience in mind.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ah, I slept really well last night, which is good because I'm going to run a 5k in a couple of hours. It'll be my first time running with neither zombies nor dog in a while, that'll be strange.

But first, food and allergy meds.

Was a little low-blood-sugar or something shaky at the market, market to the rescue! Samples in the form of brie on bites of baguette. NOM! (Yes, I had already bought empanadas and was waiting on my portobello sandwich, but all I needed was a nibble of something.)

*Almost* bought a baguette. But I really didn't need one...

Argh, I don't have my new insurance card with me, so I have to pay outof pocket and get reimbursed. Annoying! At least it's warm out.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I got up at 6:15 to take pictures of the sunrise over the lake. It was completely overcast but I went anyway--now I have some pictures of grey skies over grey water. But I'm learning post-production in Lightroom so the pictures are fun to play with anyway.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

sarameg -- when you're taking pictures of non-moving objects, try turning off the flash. If the camera is halfway decent, it will compensate by lengthening the exposure -- just remember to hold the camera as still as possible. (A good trick is to prop your arm on something.)
