Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Woo to the hoo, ran my fastest mile evah!* 15:32
'* for values of "evah" that equal since I've been tracking my runs with Nike+, which is apparently since 2006 BUT could very well be actually ever because I was never fast, even when I was in good shape. Fastest on record, afaik.
I am sorry to hear about TWOP, esp for you and your DH's sake, Jessica.
The massively bad communication by various bosses around here makes me want to thank my boss for merely being not good at communicating.
The big news here is that the kids' bus was over an hour late today because the bus driver wasn't there at end of day, and the school kept them up at the campus instead of putting them on one of the other buses. So annoying!
Go, -t!
Ooh, that is annoying, Burrell.
ION, I think I might adopt a rabbit. Towards the beginning of our run, we went past a lady with two rabbits in cages at her front yard, and we paused to chat, and she said she had rescued 27 rabbits (didn't get the details) and they'll be spayed/neutered and ready to adopt next week. I mentioned I had probably not rabbit-friendly cats (Walter was sniffing around the cages and they were clearly not bothered by him) and she said she had cats and the rabbits didn't seem to care. So, thinking about it.
Oo, I'd be tempted too, -t
I of course feel bad about our own losing jobs with TWOP, but I'm also appalled at the idea of losing that much popular culture. I wonder if the Library of Congress web archive project or a university would take it on.
I'm hoping maybe if OTW can't save it, they might be able to bring in a university that's doing a lot of fandom preservation work, like the University of Iowa.
Sue, that's kind of hilarious.
The extent to which he goes to avoid acknowledging his demotion is amazing. We offer professional development training and when people finish the course they get a little certificate which he used to sign as director. When the new trainer showed him the redesigned certificate, he just made her remove his signature entirely, so he wouldn't have to give his title. Then he made up some BS lie about there being a new gov't standard and training certificates are no longer signed.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for him. And I have all new coworkers who don't know not to take what he says as true.

Yesssss. Oh, the stories I could tell about Umbridge.
Bunny! -t, adopt a bunny!
