As a mom who played Monopoly with her kids this weekend, I loved being able to put my work aside for a day and actually play with my kids. It's the supervising homework and bedroom clean-up I'd like to end soon.

But I also come from a whole different perspective -- I was mostly home when all three of mine were that little, so I taught them really early to amuse themselves while I was writing or doing freelance work. Also because I have limited patience with playing Duplos or whatever, but that's my issue.

The boys were in the office with us from birth so they had to amuse themselves pretty early. But they were also around lots of people all the time so lots of human interaction even if it wasn't from us.
We shared a bedroom for quite a while. The crib butted up to the side of my bed then we had a single bed at the foot of our bed and the crib when they both were little. It was easier for all of us that way.
Even now at 19 and 22 they will come in and sprawl on my bed if I am in my room reading or watching my television. Big babies.
Ben still does that, too, which I love. He'll just come in to hang out. Sara is still a giant snuggler, too.
He just wants all of these people out of these offices. As far as I know, they will all sit empty. You have no idea how much I'd just love to write: The Dean says I have to tell you . . .
A new policy from the Dean's office mandates that...

Two coworkers were told by the ED of boss lady's termination, which is a relief that don't have to keep my relief and happiness entirely bottled up.
