All right, yes, date and shop and hang out and go to school and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Steph, the problem with Norwood is it is out of district for city public schools.

Oh, that's right. I always forget that Norwood is its own city. (And I tend to forget that Mt. Washington and Westwood are within city limits. Go figure.)

ION, the mail just got delivered, and there was a big envelope for me...with a copy of the new journal I'll apparently be working for (the place that I kept getting email error messages from on Thursday, who I left a voice mail for but haven't heard back yet). So I'm going to stick with the assumption that the job is still mine. Combined with the AMA job, it should get me to just about full time, but in a weird, lopsided way (pretty much all the work I'll be doing for the new journal will be only the last 2 weeks of every month, and should work out to 20-30 hours each of those 2 weeks; combined with the AMA work, those 2 weeks are going to be insane).

So...yay? I'll feel better once I have a contract to sign.

Because books.

Sounds like a yay in the making, Steph.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Qualified yay. I hope the contract appears and that the hours work out in a manageable way - that sounds kind of nice, a couple of light weeks and a couple of busy busy weeks per month.

I have cleared the bathtub drain, half-heartedly cleaned the tub, and done a load of dishes

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'll keep fingers, etc. crossed, Steph.

I've done my big workout for the weekend, and am now trying to relax with my feet up. "Trying to," as my cat thinks that attacking my feet is a great fun game.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That sucks, Jessica. I hope everything get cleared up quickly.

Nice house, Flea! I like the windows and wood floors.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Took the dog on a long walk in the neighborhood, and now I'm trying to finish up some work for my old boss.

I would have gone for a run, but we're doing a 5K tomorrow so I didn't want to push myself.

A very nice older gentleman just banged on my porch door to give me some flyer for the Jehovah's Witnesses. I feel bad for these folks; what's the return on investment on this stuff? 1 in 50 people?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

What do people think of the paint on this house?

Leopard House

I kind of like it.

Our wings are not tired.

It is a great fun game. How can any cat resist.

Also, for the record, cutting an apple in slices and spreading peanut butter on them with a little plastic knife is very challenging. Note to self, the next time you bring an apple to the office also bring a real knife.

Oh yes, I think there is a lot to like about the house. Many nice details.

What do people think of the paint on this house?

I don't know. I think it would get old quickly. I see the side isn't painted that way. Maybe to spare the neighbors. We have quite a number of houses painted with fun colors and so forth, particularly in the Keys. Mine have generally been boring.
