Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

IME (on both sides), it's always super stressful for the person giving notice and less of a deal for the person receiving it.

And if they walk you out, you don't have to bother wrapping things up -- that always seems to me like a momentary shock/insult, but an actual win-win.

Throbby. I keep deciding it's not that bad, and I should, you know, get over it, but then I sit for half an hour with my leg bent so my knee is a couple inches higher than my foot and it gets all throbby again.

It's not that swollen! It should stop hurting.
