Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Cass, we are DVRing it, if'n you're interested. Of course, chances are it'll be available for streaming in a blink.

I want to come over after work tomorrow and watch with y'all. And play with the kids. Maybe paint our nails. 100 miles is too far. Especially when I don't drive those 100 miles often. I really should change that.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oo, I'd love that Cass! But yes, too far for a casual visit. But a gal can dream. Anyway, I meant we'd be keeping them on the DVR for a bit so the kids could see it too, but then I realized it'd be way way easier to just watch it in a day or two when it magically appeared online.

Watching a bit now, but I feel guilty as DH had to run out and do some things so he won't watch until later. When I'll watch it again of course. Also guilt inducing: I need to be grading. Even more guilt inducing: I yelled at Franny before bed because I found all her folded clothes dumped behind her bed instead of put away in her drawers. I feel entitled to be pissed, but yelling never is the right choice, it's usually just the one closest to hand.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

My mother tricked me into talking to my brother on the phone. Thankfully he ended it quickly. I wish at these times that she was a stranger so I could be honest and say how uncool that was and that I've no wish to be part of his support network, and haven't since jr. high.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I just discovered that there has been leakage under my kitchen sink and have spent the last hour or so removing everything from the surrounding cabinets. I'm afraid I'll have to clear out the drawers and the countertop too, but I have no place to put more stuff. At least I have wine.

If only that was its only problem.

Indeed.

I'm waiting for the eventual showing up online too. Hopefully on iTunes so I can legit hand them monies. Something where they count my viewing at least.

But yes, too far for a casual visit. But a gal can dream.

Too far for spontaneous casual. I think we should still manage a visit though.

Downside to aging and having a white cat: momentarily worrying you have a gray eyebrow. Nope, cat fur. On my face.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Neil just made me cry.

Same here. Oh COSMOS, I missed you.

Having recently rewatched much of the first series, I was struck by how closely the first episode hewed to the original. I found it very satisfying. Cosmos played such a seminal role in my whole world view.

Ha, man, I will let you know when I get this one worked out. You are not alone, sister.

Ok, so some of you saw this on fb, but I wanted to link for those who didn't: this is the photo I submitted yesterday to Skateistan's #dayinthelife photo exchange event for International Women's Day. The girls in their skateboarding program in Afghanistan will judge the photos and choose a winner. I just love the idea of these young women looking at photos of adult women all over the world in their various roles and learning to visualize a different future for themselves. I just really really like this org.

brillig

I love the way my husband works with food. He made Thousand Island Chicken the other night (chicken breast, Thousand Island dressing, bake, may be low-brow but delicious). There was lots left over. He broke up the meat, added some more dressing, et voila, the most scrumptious sandwich filling ever (except for good egg salad, which does not have peppers in it, what are you thinking, people?). Nom nom nom.
