I'm going to see to Wesley, see if he's still whimpering.

Because books.

The price is great. And I love the kitchen and the bath. And the porch! I have house lust.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I personally love the gueyere cheddar combo. Also I am frightened to admit that I love the chocolate cheddar combo.

All our homes are the same basic footprint, it's fun to see how people change it (in this case, the biggie is that they've combined the two small bedrooms at the back-w/door to kitchen roof-into one.)

And the kitchen layout options. It isn't much space to work with. My house (all of them, actually) originally had the inset door and radiator at some point too. Brian still has his. I'm glad to have the real estate back from the door, but when it is below 20° out, I miss the radiator like whoa. When I renovate my kitchen, I think I'm going to look at putting in heat in the form of radiant heat floors (and insulate the fuck out of the walls and ceiling.) I'm pretty sure I want to keep the sink under the window. I like doing dishes, looking out at the sunset.

I'm so going to the open house.

Meara, go visit Sayulita!

Nah, I was there the last three years, this year I'm in PV.

We just had a whole discussion (um, at a slash con) about dinosaur porn, so. Mainstream is pretty weird.

Yeah. I don't know that dinoporn is mainstream READING material, but it's been featured on Jezebel, it's pretty mainstream knowledge, at least.

The white bath tile and tub looks original! Which is interesting, because on my block, built same time, we're the seafoam green/lavendar scheme. Someone might've recoated the tub and redone the tilework, but the patterns are the same vintage.

I'm fascinated with their kitchen. It's modern, but still vintage-nod to the house. And the reddish tile!

I'm pretty sure I'm going with white and families of blues like my door for accents in mine and less mod. In a decade or so when I can afford a total gut. But the red is really nice. And if I weren't always a klutz in the kitchen, I'd think about putting in wood again.

Because books.

Yeah, the bath really looks vintage to me. Which I love.

The floor is the same pattern as mine ( [link] from when I first looked at the house. I've added baseboard molding and refinished the med cabinet and...), just in white and...well, I'll report back.

(Wow, I'm in house porn mode.)

Oh, that kind of basketweave pattern! I love that.

I miss old houses.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I rented some places that vintage. I really enjoyed them.

Also I am frightened to admit that I love the chocolate cheddar combo.

Don't be afraid. It's delicious, don't fight it.

I am noticing (like, right this very minute) that I like having cheese and nuts at the same meal, but cheese coated nuts are not appealing at all. Hm.
