At this point I will probably just wind up submitting a post-it note that says "I am too awesomely busy to do this kind of corporate bullshit. Please give me my bonus now."
I wish I had the balls to actually do that, it would be accurate. Not in my very first haven't-even-been-here-a-full-year annual review, though.
I am told by my co-workers that my about-to-be-ex-manager is the only one who does self-evals, so maybe I won't have to do this next year...
I think I may need to do some celebrating.
I think you should do 300% celebrating.
Consuela, I do not understand your ex(temp)boss at all, unless he is a giant idiot.
I think the meds are sufficiently worn off now. I used them well... went and read a review of a short story written by the Dorothy Parker of SF reviewing, figuring it would be less painful. And it was!

SIGH. I can sympathize a bit, because it's a small firm and I'm fairly senior, so they have to be sure they'll have enough work. But the guy who drives most of the hiring is in Boulder, not SF, and doesn't seem to think they need me.
I'll survive, but it's a bit lowering. It's been a rough year or so, and it would be really nice to have someone be really excited to have me on board. But other than this contracting firm, I haven't even had a real interview since before Thanksgiving.
Knitters! You can make little penguin sweaters to help little penguins omg. link
This is fun - a co-worker and I are educating the rest of our team on fandom jargon. (I just Googled "exclamation point fandom" because I didn't want to link to our FAQ.) So far we've been through shipping, OTP, HSQ, Vampire!Willow, slash/gen/het, woobie...I'm running low on terms I can just pull out of my head. Any big ones we're missing?
Adorable and very persistent dachsund:

Perfect, thanks. Except I think the only people paying attention to the conversation anymore are me and the other fannish co-worker. Maybe we scared everyone off by telling them about rule 34?
(My other problem, of course, is distinguishing between fan jargon and Buffista jargon. I frequently can't remember which is which, and since I bitch about work here I want to keep the two separate...)
What is with this week and me being pulled into calls to play the heavy?
