Sorry, Captain. I'm real sorry. I shoulda kept better care of her. Usually she lets me know when something's wrong. Maybe she did, I just wasn't paying attention...

Survived day 1 of a 2 day program mgmt course. It's not bad, at all. Presenter is engaging, ideas good, activities are objectively illuminating and illustrative.

But it just reinforces I don't like being in a classroom again. The idea of going back to school for anything just makes me tired. Which is odd; I loved school, I was very good at it.

I'm mulling the reasons behind it still. It isn't as if I don't like learning. Hell, my whole job is aaaaalllll about learning shit. So it isn't that.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Are we talking about The Americans anywhere?

Oooh, I hope so, because I am really glad this show is back.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I use all the words!

I have to admit I haven't used "depreciatory" or "membranous" lately.

Jazz horns waking me up wake me up MAD.

Or that could be 5 am. Hard to tell the difference.

not your mom's socks.

blood draw this am, mostly because I haven't had it done in years (9, to be exact) because I am not a friend of the needles. So very much not.

I have Something to keep me calm. Which means I shouldn't be posting on the internet. Or doing any kind of work that involves spelling. Hoping for a highly competent tech and all-normal results. But especially the competent tech.

(If you have a wish to share awful blood draw stories, can you soxfont them? I have enough of my own already.)

Wishing everyone a good morning, with or without drugs.

Also mad-making: pledge drive week started and my feet are cold.

I hope your tests are non-traumatic and boring, Sox.

Off to class again. Blearg.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Here's to the great and painless phlebotomists out there, and may one of them work on Sox!

I personally have found it useful to wiggle my toes in rhythmic patterns (like 1-left, 1-right, 2-left, 2-right, both big toes, then repeat) which takes up a surprising amount of concentration from The Unpleasantness Elsewhere.

Hope it's done by now, Sox!

I am up bright and early to go to the airport.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good luck, Sox.

I apparently forgot to set the alarm last night but still woke up at 5:20 ( about when I was supposed to). I have mixed feelings about that.

not your mom's socks.

Done! Tech was great. I didn't pass out. And then DH took us through a car wash which was predictably hilarious.
