"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Question for the hive:

I need to buy a food processor and a blender. A key thing is that I HATE

HATE

chopping. And I want many of the parts to be dishwasher safe.

Any suggestions?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I think the books I read the most as a kid were the Dragonriders of Pern books. (Truefax: Not only did I use sections of them for Forensics, I would make up little tunes and sing the songs Menolly made up as I washed dishes. NEEERRDD.)

As far as declaring faves for teen and college, there's no way. I have too, too many books I've literally read to pieces. Literally literally.

This Kitchenaid food processor comes with a 9-cup bowl and a 4-cup bowl so you can use it for things like chopping a single onion.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's the one I have, I am pretty sure. All the pieces go into the dishwasher (except the base, of course), works great. I've had mine for, hm, must be four years with nary a problem.

For blenders - I really like my Cuisinart with a heater built in for making soups and whatnot. All the pieces except the part with the heater go in the dishwasher, and it comes with a good stiff brush for the part that needs hand washing.

Possibly having a heating element in your blender is not universally desired. I am willing to concede that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

For blending, I almost never use my blender-blender now that I have a stick blender. So convenient! Right in the soup pot! (I pretty much only blend soup.)

I've never been happy with my stick blender. It's probably this particular one, and not the whole set of stick blenders, but I can't justify getting a different one to myself when I have one that isn't broken, just not very effective.

::small voice:: I have a stick blender I've never used.

I love my stick blender, but I don't think they last as long as regular blenders do - I have to replace mine about every two years.

What happens to them that they need replacing?
