Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This

Our temp had DROPPED 11° in the last couple hours. It's 16°. UHG.
I just messed something up at work. Which would not have happened had I been at work. Because I have a GIANT POSTIT ON MY SCREEN THERE.
I hate working from home.
If only we had a 16 degree temp.
I suppose if you are further east than I am, sarameg, you can look forward to subzero temps in the next couple of days.
I miss hanging out with friends already! Work is much less fun.
Also, heat is not working in the office. It is now 65 degrees in here. It is month end, so we have to get stuff done, but I think we will all leave as soon as we have done the minimum.
So when I was reassuring myself that it was okay that I was getting home so late, I forgot that 1) this is the day they start mowing the lawn at 8AM, and 2) we have a cable company appointment from 10-12.
Now I'm awake and hating the world.
I suggest coffee and chocolate. It won't help much, but it may help a little.
Dang my house is cold this morning. And I feel like crap, but I don't think I'm sick exactly. I think last night's cheap sushi isn't sitting well with me.
I've had coffee. . . Alas no chocolate. Must remedy this.
Also: we have massive leftover food from a Saturday event in our Dept fridge. I had a delicious cherry-pomegranite yoghurt with my coffee. Yum.
So I fixed it -- kinda -- with a toasted bagel and lox. Hrm? Either that or I made a horrible mistake that will come back to haunt me.
We have cold rain that's expected to change over to sleet any minute now. I was in the office for a couple of hours, and they sent an email around telling those that could work from home to go ahead and do so. So here I am, home, with pizza in the oven and a cat by my head on the sofa. The cold rain continues to be cold rain, but I'm just as happy looking at it without a commute home in my near future.
