I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh Dana -- best of luck to your MIL.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Much ~ma to your mother, Dana.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am the proud owner of an epipen! Actually two because they come in pairs. They took some blood and are testing it somehow for common allergens, but my doctor already said that she reacts to things that the test says she shouldn't so she maybe it will find something, maybe it won't. I would love to have an answer, but having an epipen really puts my mind at ease.

Enough to go running tomorrow? Maybe. We'll see.

sarameg, I feel like I was channeling you a little bit at Trader Joe's, getting the tapas kit. I was starving by then, I bought a lot of their deli section.

Trader Joe's, btw, has Hollandaise sauce in a jar. So I don't need to try making it again for a bit.

What. my extensive knowledge of their selections good for wine night or my *sigh* lovely days in Spain?

Discovered I don't have a copy of A Brief History of Time. Must be at my parents'. Was looking for it for my neighbor's 9 year old (!!!) Yeah, he could handle it. But if he ever wants to do bios on women in science, I'm his girl. (Or anything on the Balkans. Or genocide and the philosophies of war and humanitarianism.) Have shelves of it. Perusing those beloved titles made me realize I'd actually burnt out on it. I found myself grabbing titles, remembering passages and then being hit with this tiredness. I wonder at the people who can stay in it. I once wanted to be them. The stuff in the Ukraine is dredging up my Soviet brain stuff, I'm finishing sentences for the commentators on npr, usually sarcastically. Some things just don't change. Ah, Crimea. Anyway, odd night.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You are a good brain (thanks autocorrect) to have on tap, sara.

Refrigerated one in a tub? It's tasty. I am not allowed to buy it often. I'd eat it.

That's the one. I'm excited to try it.

Bit of both, but more Spain.

It's an odd brain.

Also, latino/a lit features heavily on my shelves. Largely SW US, but also Allende and Mexico. I need to reorg my shelves. I once had a system, possibly opaque except to me, but shelving issues means it is a bit mixed up. I have my version of travel mixed with adventure and MidEast nonfic and fic and I like to keep my angsty modern AmLit in another section and...

Bah. I cooked up all the remaining tortellini in the house and ate it. Woops. But it's pasta, so yummy and filling.
