Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This

Nobody else has said anything for two and a hours? Where is everyone?
I was at the spa, because after spending all day wincing in pain and being a lump on the couch, Pete decreed that I needed to just go. And it kind of is a miracle worker, because after 3 hours of roasting in the sauna and soaking, I don't hurt.
Are there Buffistas who like oysters and also have texture issue/gag reflex problems? I'm asking for a friend.
I like cooked oysters, but haven't tried them raw. And I have some weird food texture issues. (Oatmeal is a no-go for me, and the same with rice pudding.)
I woke up ridiculously early thanks to a slight cold, but then I had a brainstorm, so now I am sitting in the lobby of the hotel at 6:30 in the morning, charging my phone via USB. Technology! And maybe I can get to the spa earlier and sweat the cold out.
Edit: woot! I found the phone and called the bus people and changed my pickup time. At least if I'm going to be killing time, I can do it in the hot springs.

I like them cooked but cannot abide them raw, because of the texture.
I love raw oysters (lemon! horseradish!) but cannot abide tapioca or those bubble drinks, because texture.
Also, oatmeal with fruit and nuts is good, but plain = gruel.
Oh, I guess I should have clarified that I'm good with cooked oysters, but I'm not sure how I'd do with raw. Thanks for the feedback, y'all.

This sounds like an excellent plan to me.
I hate regular yogurt (greek is thicker and so it's OK), because the texture makes me gaggy, but generally anything that isn't smooth is fine (so pudding no, but rice pudding or tapioca is fine). Not sure why that is.
Tonight I try the cpap for the first time at home. We'll see how long I last.
I apparently have no texture issues anymore. When I was a kid, I hated tapioca, but finally tried bubble tea recently and kind of loved it. I also love oysters. They taste like the sea! Plus other flavors I enjoy.
Shrift, If you want, we can get a half dozen oysters tomorrow, and then if you don't like them after the first one , I will take one for the team and eat the rest.
shrift, I highly recommend starting with tiny PNW oysters to start. Very little of that texture issue with Hama Hamas, or my favorite, Yamamotos. Also, dab them with the migonette. East Coast oysters are bigger and more likely to get cause that problem.
Lee is a true friend.
So I was surprised last night at how late it was light out, but it's still pitch black out now at 8. North!
