I was never smart enough for Brown. Those folks scared me.
And, yep, Kat, rather weird. By the time you're in your 30s, hasn't the sparkly newness worn off most of your schooling anyway, and hasn't everyone spent enough time slogging away in the real world that even big name schools are still double-digits ago, so what have you done since then? Does anyone but her care? Does she seem to think they should? Weird.
(Also, West Coast people are weird about those schools anyway; by the time I was 25 I had stopped mentioning VC by name because people either got preemptively huffy with me for being a snob who thought I was better than them even if I wasn't and didn't, or they looked at me as if I were a big ball of fail and wanted to know what I was doing working in an office if I'd gone there. By 30 the Ivy and Seven Sisters grads in the Bay Area could spot each other at parties instantly, just because we were always the cagey ones saying vaguely, "College? Uh, back East, a while ago," and then changing the subject.)
Congrats to amych's dad and Zenkitty's niece!

Rawr?
(I basically never bring it up, for those reasons, JZ. But I also developed a weird habit of saying, "Brown University, out in Rhode Island" my senior year of High School because nearly no one in my home town had heard of it, and the habit has persisted.)
That hotel sounds whack, meara. What city are you in?
I have already reached the stage of the cold where I want to tear off my own face, so you guys are going to have to talk more and entertain me.
I am currently resting in the cafe area of a department store in motherfucking Paris! And they have WiFi! I'm so exhausted, though. I have to go to the Louvre tomorrow, and I'd really better go first thing inthe morning. I have been jettisoning museums to visit like crazy, after remembering I'm not that big on art. I mean, it's fine, but not all day for four days.
Museums can be exhausting.
Ladies' short program is on NBCSN, Dana, if that helps.
We had thunder and lightning here a little while ago. Winter is totally drunk.
I don't have cable. *sniffle*
Everything is exhausting! I mean, I usually sit around a LOT. But my friend's seventh-floor walkup has meant I'm trying to just stay out all day. It is great, though.
