It's simple. I slap 'em around a bit, torture 'em, make their lives hell...Sure, the nice guys'll run away, but every now and then you'll find a prince like Spike who gets off on it.

Yep.

Spent 2 hours working on the street. I cleared the start of it which was a horrid icy glacier. We're clear up to the first intersection. Unfortunately , after that, it gets dicey ( though there are more folks out now, so maybe they're working on that.) We may all be reversing in and out for a bit.

Especially looking at tonight's forecast. It makes me want to cry.

I'm back to teleworking with a blister that may be spawning a blister, and my boots need to dry out. Everything is thawing rapidly (it's 45°!!!!) and there are veritable rivers of melt running down the street.

Which is all going to freeze up tonight. Uhg. And I've GOT to get to the stores tomorrow.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I probably should feel bad that I'm letting a manager take over this leadership presentation when my manager said it would be a good opportunity for me to make a brand for myself. But it's not like I present at leadership meetings that often, and I'd rather have my brand be about collaboration and iteration than "here is a crappy presentation that I made all by myself."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, my mother is so classic her. She offered me a ride to the airport, and I knew she wouldn't want to do it, once I told her when! And sure enough, she is out -- granted, it's rush hour and dinner time, so I get it, but still.

Art Crawl!!!

Video of a ferret confusingly named "Badger" wearing a sweater that surely doesn't fit right and attempting to get back in the house.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

mac did not say anything in class, but when he got to his next class he asked to go see the counselor (first time seeing counselors at jr. high). Counselor listened to him, heard him, and is writing the substitute up.

That is awesome. Really. I am so proud of how hard you've both worked to get to a place where this can happen.

Okay, and the English thing. Kids, man. I hear they are complicated.

and I'd rather have my brand be about collaboration and iteration

Yep.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Good for Mac on the band stuff. Slightly tempered with an eye roll on the English stuff. Oh well.

Seafood CSAs are a thing in some places. I live a few hours from the coast and my upstairs neighbor participates in one. Everything's fresh, and she sometimes gets stuff that they catch, but not in large enough quantities for the grocery store.

Our wings are not tired.

It is wonderful to see the progress Mac has made! Ignoring the other school stuff at the moment to celebrate the big steps.

Also, aurelia made me laugh out loud at my desk.

eta: Oh my! I wonder if they have seafood CSA's here. That would be awesome.
