I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have applied for several jobs, registered for a con, and am waiting to pounce on Welcome to Night Vale tickets as soon as they go on sale in 20 minutes. This, despite the house being 59 degrees, which I think is grounds for spousal murder.

Because books.

They cancelled school here last night, which was probably a mistake -- at 7 a.m. it was clear and sunny. Although we do have a lot of rural-ish areas that buses need to get to.

So far today, Dana (and Jesse and probably everyone else) beats me in productivity. I have Interneted and eaten homemade waffles with strawberries and turned on the Olympics.

I need to brag on mac.

He has a substitute in band this week and apparently this guy lacks sensitivity/being human skills. I had not heard anything all week, but last night mac shared that in class yesterday the teacher upset him. mac was leaning over to adjust his music stand and accidentally let the slide on his trombone fall out. They teacher yells at him and says something like "If I were your parent I would disown you".

So, horrible to say at all over not a huge deal and really horrible triggery to say to mac.

mac did not say anything in class, but when he got to his next class he asked to go see the counselor (first time seeing counselors at jr. high). Counselor listened to him, heard him, and is writing the substitute up.

SO proud on so many levels. 1) he knew he did not deserve it. 2) he knew he needed to talk to someone because it upset him. 3) he told both McPhee and me in his own time.

This guy deserves to have a cartoon anvil dropped on his head. And also a serious talk about his career path, because WTF.

Aw, yay, mac!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

What a poisonous human being. Mac deserves tons of love and praise for his self-awareness and self-care and maturity.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

msbelle, what a shitty thing to happen to mac, but it's wonderful to hear that he handled it so well! That is huge. Way to go, mac!

I possibly hugged him to near death last night. I am so proud that he recognizes that he is worth something and can stand up for himself in a positive way. His therapist is going to be over the moon.
