And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Tomorrow we get to find out if the freezing rain will be "historic" or "catastrophic."

I'd stay inside either way!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Happy birthday, -t!

Here's hoping that the east coast ice storm fizzles into a drizzle.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Happy birthday, -t!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Thanks, y'all. My brother says the downside of Dad not complying with the orders is that he'll never be able to eat anything chewy again. Which would suck: he loves him a good steak. And pie.

So that's the argument we're going to make: liquid diet, or no pie ever again!

SIGH.

It's a good argument and might get through. It's so hard when there are cognition challenges.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Random fact learned tonight: they use five different kinds of chocolate to make ExLax, depending on what market it's going to. And it's nicer to work in that part of the plant than over by the antacids, which smells of cherry. This is dinner conversation when you're surrounded by guys who run pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.

Also lots and lots of work gossip. Money quote from a bigwig: "We'll resume this conversation someplace a lot more private and with more alcohol."

Got stupid (pre-alcohol) and am soooo sunburned. I will be skipping 6 am yoga with all of the other women in the group, thanks so much. But this morning there was a 90-some degree temperature differential between home and here (84 v. -7). I'll take that.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I'm supposed to be flying through Atlanta to Lexington KY on Friday - are these storm shenanigans supposed to be gone by then?

So very jealous right now.

I am at a sleep center waiting to get hooked up to sensors and shit, fingers crossed they find something, preferably something easily fixed?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good luck, meara!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I'm glad you posted this over here because I typed up a big long thing over on fb, and then was all, wait, I think this is overshare for those fora.

ANYWAY. Yeah, I am horrrible about getting up in the mornings, and I'm pretty sure it's just because I'm a lazyass with no discipline who stays up too late and can't do basic math to figure out when she needs to start getting ready for bed to get eight hours of sleep on days she has to get up at five.

It's pretty much a miracle that I've gotten my ass up and out of bed and to work more or less on time (okay, admittedly with a little bit of speeding) for the two weeks the SO has been on tour.

I am much more looking forward to the next tour stint, during which I will be on spring break. I can either go with him or I can loll around at home but NOT HAVE TO WAKE MYSELF UP. I set four alarms this morning and made a specific upon-wakeup gameplan and yet, still managed an extra fifteen minutes of not getting up. Not sleeping, just not getting up.

So.

Yeah, I hope the sleep study reveals something helpful to you, but I think mine would reveal things I already know, like stop using my phone in bed.
