So, Vortex, why would a company with roughly 5000 employees choose to self-insure? I guess it seems like a lot of risk with that number of employees.
But fascinating.
Also, on the insurance front, my union has asked for a 16% raise, along with back compensation of some sort of the furloughed days. I would rather we keep our amazing insurance (where my entire family is insured with no premiums) than get a raise. That shows you my fucked up priorities.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. I think I'm as caught up on work e-mail as I care to be today. I did send out a note to my PMs that while I'm back full time, it may not be my regular hours. If I get tired or too distracted, I'm takng a break and will make up the time later in the day.
Three giggling girls, all in ARP, just knocked on the door and asked if CJ would show them where the playground is here (one of them just moved to our complex). Note, it is 23 degrees out - perfect weather to hang outside.
Happy Birthday Suzi!
-t reminded me I need to do the bird feeders. Maybe that will make me feel like I didn't totally waste today. I doubt it, but it might.
That's good, Connie. The less stress on your plate the better.
We're looking at a good chance of winter precipitation moving in around Tuesday afternoon here. NC has only had a day or so of snow this winter, so I'm still on the "Yay, snow!" train.
old checks. how long do people keep. Suze Orman says only 1 year unless tax related and then 3-6.
Why would I keep checks? Why would an auditor look for something most banks don't return?
I've finally gotten the hang of roasting Brussels sprouts (our oven runs a little hot, I think, and the first time I made them, they were kind of...briquette-like). Now I feel like I need to make up for 42 years of Brussels sprout deprivation.
