Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

But my hair is cute, so it all works out, right?

I'd say so!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

When I crutched out to my car, I realized that I was parked close to the car next to me and that the space in between was all snow and ice. There was a teenager who had just emerged from another car and I asked if he would back my car out of the spot so I could get in. I think I made that kid's day. Also turned out that he is Persian, so I thanked him in Farsi.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw, nice kid.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Yay Joe!

Bought a skirt and the folk fest. It's black silk with white skull-and-crossbone and red rose appliques along the bottom. Yes, it's a pirate skirt. Arrr!

(This is the second skirt I've bought from this craftsperson. The other one is black with blue dragons and orange flames.)

And that was with a 20%-off-entire-purchase coupon.

I was about to say, I hope you had a MIchael's coupon! I can see how it would be very very tempting to spend All the Money there (I admit I have more scrapbook stuff and pretty paper just because, which I have never actually used to make a scrapbook).

>They are magic Hawaiian leaves! (Edit: not even pot, though he certainly smokes a lot of that also.)

Riiiiiiiiiiight. Magic. Something tells me he's anti-vax, also.

Every four years I am suddenly in the thrall of the thighs of the male distance speed-skaters. And then forget about this when the Olympics aren't happening, only to be surprised next time.

I could see that. I'm also amused at how many "ooh, biathlon" posts there were on my FB feed today. I've always thought it sounded like a pretty awesome sport, even if maybe not fun to watch.

My glee at the new tax document was short lived. Turns out forgiven debts are considered income. So there's $18,000 of brand new income that's never had taxes paid on it that we got no benefit from.

Yeah, I didn't want to say anything, but that's often the case (also I think with mortgage debt that gets forgiven?)

I managed to go to Target and the post office. And Nordstrom Rack, where I did not buy anything for me, but did buy a $5 bra for my sister. And the supermarket but just for a couple things. Debating going dancing tonight, but I also wanted/needed to work out and do some clothes-sorting. Hmm.

I feel your pain, Connie. Almost literally. (down to the amount!) (I actually thought at first meara was responding to something I didn't remember posting.)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Turns out forgiven debts are considered income.

One hand giveth, one hand taketh away, and a foot kicks you in the behind.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Congrats to MM!

Bummer about the tax stuff, Connie.

Managed 45 minutes of sanding that didn't require tenting, just attaching the shopvac with filter to the sander. Minimal mess. But tomorrow after my morning (uhg) swim, I'm bubbling the stairs and hopefully getting 95% of the sanding DONE. As in, anything else left will have to be by hand. Then I shall clean my house.

And then, maybe THEN, I'll go out and get stain samples and some scrap wood and decide on a stain. Or maybe that will happen earlier, depending on timing. Anyway, this is going to get done this spring, damnit. Painting the spindles won't be too complicated, neither will staining. The big one is sealing the posts and rail. I'll have to keep the cats off them. They might have to go live at Anna's next door. I possibly should find out her travel schedule so I just sleep there* with them, cause I don't know if I'd wish that on the unsuspecting (I discovered a bunch of teeny scratches around my hairline where Pumpkin got a little too affectionate last night.)

Oh, and then I want to patch-finish parts of the stairs and upstairs landing, some of it casualty of this process, some just never done by the seller.

* I just realized that sounds crazy presumptuous. And also weirdly like a dream I had after just moving in, which I never would have guessed at the time. But it's been offered and dear god, I love my hood.
