You're nice, and you're funny and you don't smoke, and okay, werewolf, but that's not all the time. I mean, three days out of the month, I'm not much fun to be around, either.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Goodness, Juliebird. That's distressing.

Which reminds me, Calli, if you're looking for gift suggestions for a one-year-old, maybe a book or two?
A book is always the right answer!

Normally I'd agree. But she has a writer for a dad and an older sister who I think got a lot books, and I'm not sure how to avoid duplicates. I should ask amyth. She baby-sits for the girls, and she's sitting right here.

Anyone watching the Opening Ceremony tonight, a friend choreographed part of the show. Apparently it is after the parade of athletes and involves people on stilts, a snowstorm, and a troika. My assumption is if it looks Cierc du Soliel-esque, then it is likely her choreography.

Olympics. OMG the Serious Voiceover. "Discover the Russian People, Through These Indelible Signatures." How does the man read the script without laughing?

Cereal: and Amyth and I decided to ask a local bookstore about one-year-old books that have been published in the past year. Problem potentially solved!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I was going to watch the opening ceremonies, but I find I'm more interested in watching Wednesday's episode of Arrow.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Man, I do not want to be at work right now. It's hard to hold it together when I've got crew members in tears.

I'm sorry, aurelia. That sounds very hard.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, man, aurelia. I'm so sorry.

Back in 2007

Dang that is a long time for me to never notice! Not that I have had a ton of opportunities to see $1 coins, I guess, but they aren't that elusive.

Made what I certainly hope is my last trip to the vet for the year. All the animals have had their exams now, and have been declared almost rude in their healthiness - the tech was shocked that Pixie was 13, and the doctor remarked that I must be doing something right, so that's good. I guess I should see about my neglected teeth next. It's nine years since I went to the dentist, there are probably issues to be dealt with. But not right this minute. Right this minute, it is time to sit by the fire and sip some Bailey's and listen to the rain.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There's a power outage and a minor derailment at the Howard CTA station. Which is why there's been helicopters hovering in my neighborhood for the last two hours.
