Do I wish I was somebody else right now. Somebody not... married, not madly in love with a beautiful woman who can kill me with her pinkie!

Our wings are not tired

I was specifically lamenting the overseas travel and/or vacation length travel.

My trip next month is at least partially for work. I will be speaking at Queen's University Belfast.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Ooh, you're a guest lecturer!

Our wings are not tired.

I'm doing a show in Omaha...

When? I have bunches of relatives there, that I like, that would welcome a visit from me.

Short term is getting someone trained well enough that I can leave my business to travel more. In the meantime I have to be the destination since I seem to be indispensable, against my will.

I will be speaking at Queen's University Belfast

Nice work if you can get it, so to speak!

eta: also so down with a trip to Iceland.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Iceland is amazing! I loved my visit there. The Reykjavik cathedral is gorgeous, and there's art all over the city. If you like seafood you're in luck, 'cause it's amazing. If you like food that you only eat on a dare, well, the rotted shark is for you. Make sure you have the schnapps they call "the black death" on hand, because that's the only thing that will get the taste of rotten shark out of your mouth. There's a wang museum. There's a very walkable downtown. There's a rotating restaurant on top of some water towers--great food and a terrific view.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I think I need this hat:

That hat is VERY Shrifty and you do indeed need it.

not your mom's socks.

Update on the doctor-evil - saw a new doc yesterday, who is awesome and, within 5 minutes, gave me an actual likely diagnosis using REAL WORDS, and said soon-to-be-ex-doc was probably happier delivering babies and not so good on the things I need her to be good on. She says there's an easy fix, and I am happy to believe her and do whatever she says because the "This happens sometimes", the "let's just keep an eye on it", and the "you're too needy" handling of things for the past six years was really, REALLY, getting me down.

I was so relieved I came home that I slept for four hours.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Everything here is frozen and shut down.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Six years, Sox?!? Good lord. Well, I'm glad New Doc is on it and I hope the easy fix is truly easy and actually fixes.
