My guess is that the stuff that's coming off is a skim coat and the person who did it either used the wrong stuff or didn't properly prep the wall.
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Or it's just been 100 years? I'm sure it's been at least 60. So if I pull off what comes easily, and do a new skim coat, I should be OK, right? And that seems sufficiently diy-ish?
Worst that can happen is that it comes off again. Mine is water damage, bubbling, not just cracks, so I think I'll have to learn to plaster properly.
Worst that can happen is that it comes off again.
Right? That's my gut feeling. Especially since we have a guy who could fix it now if I really fuck it up. Metal mesh business and joint compound seem doable.
That's one thing about living in a house this old (and one owned by a crappy slumlord for a couple decades before): it's survived worse than my attempts at repairs, and even neglected, it survived. At least I care and am trying.
Whee! Early 90s TV programming! Kung Fu: The Legend Continues is on YouTube!
oh, I didn't watch The Following last year, but I am catching this ep tonight. This is my cuppa.
Oh, I am so full. We went out for our Restaurant Week dinner and everything was really rich. And the wine was free and unlimited (!). So even though I'm officially Not Drinking this month, I had 2 glasses of wine. So full.
I'm not sure whether I will be able to run in the morning...
Unlimited free wine, is that legal? Hope tomorrow is not too bad.
I just saw an ad for Flashdance: The Musical. For real. IDEK.
is that legal
Well, it was part of dinner, which we paid for. So it seems like it was fine.
