So sweet. I love them holding hands.

The adorable twinness is killing me ded.
Mine are having one of those divine play dates where everyone is quietly busy and all you can here is the sound of Legos.
I am told that they hold hands a lot at school, which I love. I sort of would like for them to be in the same class because he's so protective and wonderful with her (and homework would be way more simple). But for the same reasons, it's still better that they aren't. Maybe.
Sara's class this year has two sets of boy-girl twins, in a class of 14 total. But there's only one grade level each, so there's no way to split them up.
they're going to open a cider-based place downtown.
Excellent!
Noah and Grace make me smile. So sweet!

Brilliant.
Man, I am still out of sorts from that infuriating email from my boss this morning. I know I'm overreacting, I know she's a dumb-ass bad manager who often says insulting shit without even thinking about it, I know she didn't MEAN to say I'm incompetent, but still. After 14 years of working for her, blowing off all the MANY insults she's given me, why is this one sticking in my craw? Hell, it's not even the worst insult she's given me! I should just let it go. She hasn't responded to my reply, and I know she's going to pretend it never happened, because she has no idea how to deal with it.
And now there's another problem that's just popped up in my inbox. The person whose job it is to figure it out didn't, so I did. And now there's radio silence as everyone passes the buck and waits for someone else (me) to fix it. Nope, not my job. I'd have to fix it manually and it would take me a couple hours, and just no. I'm feeling extremely non-accommodating all of a sudden.
3) Avoid from coding from scratch. For anyone but a huge place, the chance of failure is high. Yes, some companies manage it successfully, but it is a huge risk. And every business feels like it is a special snow flake whose needs no standard package can meet, but about 99.99% of the time standard packages - either as is or slightly modified- can accommodate their work flow.
To this I will say - DOE regulations and their random changes. They make it almost impossible to use anything off the shelf carte blanche. Which is why the Legacy systems haven't been significantly upgraded or reworked in eons. We've got it working so they haven't fucked with it. But we may be now looking at a decade of Legacy supporting the company so...I win.
