My 2:30 meeting only ended at 4:45 because the firealarm went off.
I'd been there since little after 7. Uhg.
When my car didn't even have 50 miles on it, I was very gently rear-ended by a lady at a stoplight. Long after we'd both stopped. Her foot slipped off the brake (which is why gently. I'd first thought the tub of catlitter had fallen over.) She said 'this just keeps happening!' Um.
How distracted do you have to be to rear-end cars stopped at a stoplight?
I admit, I did that once. Just misjudged the stopping distance. Drove the car I hit into the car in front of them and everything. But not twice in a week, that seems excessive.
Zen, I am torn between just wanting to go to sleep right now and being pretty sure that would result in me waking up at, like, 3 am and then being even more tired tomorrow evening when I have this damn work party to go to. I think staying awake makes more sense at the moment. I may sleep all Saturday, though.

Yeah, I was distracted for a half a second to a second when I rear-ended the guy a month ago. If I had been looking ahead I would have noticed the car ahead of me had slammed on its brakes.
You know what? I feel really bad about causing that accident. And I've been driving much more carefully since then. And he made the same mistake again, a week after the first time.
OK, perhaps I'm obsessing a little. Shutting up now.

I've done worse. Was waiting in the line at a toll booth, and realized that I didn't have enough money for the toll in the cup holder where I usually keep toll and parking meter money. As I reached for my pocketbook to check for money there, my foot slipped off the brake slightly, and I hit the car in front of me. Possibly the stupidest driving thing I have ever done.
Hil, I've done that in a parking lot. Luckily with nothing to hit nearby.
Maybe I shouldn't be so judgmental of distracted drivers...
eta: I was just really annoyed at that driver today.
Twice in a row takes it from distracted to unsafe. Annoyance is validated.
A friend posted an extended rant on how twitter represents degeneration in human communication. For the most part I was gentle with him, recommending creating a twitter account and following some carefully selected people. But did suggest a twitter handle of DamnKidsGetOffMyLawn (which in reality is probably already taken).
Dear body, quit trying to gaslight me. Kthxbai.
I have got to get it in gear today, but I don't feel like it! Maybe I'll re-write my to-do list. That should help.
