Yes, meara, Emmett is a senior.
Is there one in particular that he really wants to go to?
The first school he got into is actually the place his professional baseball coach suggested he could go and be the starting catcher as a Freshman. So that's Cal State East Bay (CS-EB, previously Cal State - Hayward).
For those not familiar with the California university system, UC schools are the top tier, and the CalState schools are the next tier (and more affordable!) and then you get into the JCs.
So he applied to all the Cal State colleges that have baseball programs.
The cool thing is that he got into the Kinesiology program at CS-EB, which is competitive to get into and would give him a sassy B.S. instead of a B.A.
CS-EB is also pretty close. About a 45 minute drive. So we could see him on the monthly or so, and it wouldn't be horrible travel expenses. He wants to stay in California anyway.
And he just got into Sonoma State and Cal State-San Bernadino.
Baseball is still his focus, so if he continues to play at his current high level and improve then a likely scenario would be for him to play two years at CS-EB (which is a Div. III school and has no scholarships) and then be able to transfer to a Div. I school (should he be able to get a baseball scholarship.)
