Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

You guys, I want to make buttermilk biscuits constantly until I get really good at it. That is reasonable, right?

Yes. The only fault in the logic it that you will then be good at making buttermilk biscuits and you'll want to make them all the time.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Why do people not understand not to reply all?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Except I would pretty much forget to buy buttermilk most of the time, so the risk isn't so huge. (I'm still working through the quart I bought at Christmas.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

On the way up the steps tonight Matilda asked, "Does Cowgirl Jesse know where we live?"

After I sussed that she was NOT talking about the character from Toy Story, I assured that she did, and had, in fact, been in our very apartment.

Matilda was curious about the sender of the parasol.

Just as Emmett had been curious about the person who sent him the monkey head for his scooter (that would be msbelle).

In short: you are known to my children.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But still am not a cowgirl.

Not according to my daughter.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

We're having a week of hellacious weather here. Today the maximum is 43 degress (109 in Fahrenheit). This is ushering in four days of 40-degree weather (104F+).

I'm not saying I'd swap with Chiberia Chicago, you understand. Just that I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

Oh, the kicker: for the month of January, the rail company is doing upgrade work on my line, which means a three-station segment is closed. Both to and from work, I need to catch a train to one station, go find a bus, take it to the other station, then wait for a train to take me the rest of the way. I'm so looking forward to the rest of this week.

...I would totally take Chiberia over 109 degrees. Ick.
