I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You deserve them!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

An air mattress on one of those ikea slat frames was about the most comfortable bed I've had. If it would stay inflated better, but that was in the days before the self inflating ones. One caveat - you don't want it directly on the floor because it gets really cold.

brillig

How high off the floor do people have their beds? I'm too old to have to hoist myself up in the morning.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Sorry, Dana. Ankles are tricksy.

I finally got the Christmas tree down and all the holiday stuff put away. It's nice to have that space back in the living room.

I don't find air mattresses comfortable. Either they are so firm that I feel like I'm bouncing off of them or I slosh around in my tossing and turning. Either way, not comfortable. Waterbeds, also not good for me. I have a regular mattress on a slat bed now, and it's fine, and I slept on futons for years contentedly.

High enough for the dog to get under it. Because he will get under it, especially if there are loud noises, and if it's too low he'll get stuck.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

In terms of cost, a mattress/box spring set with the free metal frame from the store is usually less expensive than a good wooden platform bed. In terms of moving into any NYC apartment, a queen size box spring probably won't fit up the stairs.

I recently upgraded our mattress with a 3" memory foam topper, and now I can't imagine how we ever slept on anything else. I lurve it.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

In terms of moving into any NYC apartment, a queen size box spring probably won't fit up the stairs.

I discovered the existence of the split box spring (for queen and king) when I lived in an apartment in which my bedroom was the 3rd floor attic with a narrow stairway with 2 turns. No ordinary box spring was going to make it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My bed is a little higher off the floor than the typical metal frame. When I first got it, I put both my mattress and box spring in it, and it was so high that I had to literally climb into bed. Another reason to ditch the box spring.

Air mattresses aren't great unless they're fully inflated, so yeah, if you don't like a firm mattress, it's not for you. I hated my ex-BF's waterbed with a passion, because he liked it sloshy and never filled it all the way.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When I moved in here, since I was using my grandmother's bedroom furniture, I started off sleeping on her mattress, and it was way too soft and fluffy for me. Finally I swapped them, and I am back on my 15-year-old one that is still just fine. I bought the mattress and boxspring together used for I think $100.

Ow, Dana! You should definitely have a juice box and some stickers.

I have no idea what's in the boxes, but they said 1990, so in the trash they went!
