someone could make a ton of dough opening their home to emergency day care. In TX and NY, I know you do not need a license for less than like 5 kids.

I spent an hour this morning reading articles about the blizzard Cincinnati (and much of the Midwest-NE region) had on January 26, 1978. Someone called wanting to know how many days the city schools were closed because of the blizzard. It turns out that noplace in the paper on the 26th, 27th, 28th, or 29th was there a specific mention of school closings, though there were tons of articles about mandatory no drive orders, people being rescued from their cars on highways and in rural areas, and a boat getting crushed into a dam by ice. Luckily in the paper for Monday the 30th there was an article stating that the city was planning to re-open schools on the 30th (rural areas were mostly still closed).
Now Teppy has me wanting to go back to the microfilm and see what the school closures were in 1977!
Here in an article about the 1976-77 and 1977-78 winters, with more pictures of people walking across the Ohio river. [link]
So far, my favorite picture in that group from the article is of Mayor Jerry Springer.
I am trying to drink a large glass of water before each meal. I hope it works for making me feel full, because this Lean Cuisine does not look like it will do the trick. Maybe 2 of them would.
I know, his hair! Also, what was he, like, 25?
Sometimes I accidentally hit the "read out loud" thing on my phone -- I'm not even sure I could do it on purpose -- I can report that it's kind if funny to do it on a post here.
Been doing laundry and still am. I'm going to go find my book now, because I've resolved to read a book a week this year. That's the only concrete resolution, and I'm figuring there will be some side benefits aside from just the joy of reading.
I remember one day of school being called on account of super cold weather, and our heater broke sometime during the night before! I remember huddling under the covers with hat, coat and gloves for the morning. Amazingly, someone was able to fix it same day.

Pretty sure I've mentioned before that he hit on my mom in the nightclubbing 80's. Of course, he hit on every woman, so.
And now I don't know if the extensive time off school was the deep freeze of 1977 or the blizzard of 1978, or both. Because Clermont County in the 1970s was the fucking sticks, man. That crazy blizzard had to have snowed us in for days. I'll have to ask my mom.

I really don't think those are a meal. Maybe with some soup!
My officemate just pointed out that it is noticeably lighter out than at this time a couple of weeks ago, so that's encouraging.
I am doing my best to make the Lean Cuisine work. I need to reduce the amount my stomach thinks of as full. water and coffee are only somewhat doing the trick. 2 biters of a TJ candy bar are much more satisfying.
