My mother was just telling me that her suburban support group friends were all freaking out that my father was found in Boston because Something Could Have Happened To Him! In one of the ritziest neighborhoods in the city? Unlikely. Also, he was way better off on a sidewalk with lots of people around.
What? I've walked all over Boston in the wee hours and never once felt the slightest bit in danger. (Driving, however, is another matter entirely!) They should come down to Southern cities like Memphis or Birmingham if they want actual street crime to worry about.
Oh work people, you frustrate me with your refusal to follow company policy and then anger at me when I point out such refusals. When you do not use the current version of a form and it gets sent back, I will fix it, but I will also say I told you so.

There are definitely parts of Boston where there is more street crime, but Copley Square is not one of those parts.
I think I just hate everything today. Good thing I have lots of meetings, right?
A day full of meetings surely gives you plenty of cover for hating things all around you.
Admittedly I didn't hang around much after dark in Southie, but the North End, Cambridge, Back Bay, and even Fenway seemed just fine to me.
Absolutely. It's your Dorchester/Roxbury areas that get dicey.
These are the things Dennis Lehane has taught me.
Just had to spend the morning crawling around under my desk to get my headset plugged back in. They had to swap out my UPS and didn't seem to realize they shouldn't have plugs left over. Equipment plugs are not like screws, people! Left overs are even more bad! And now my headset is beeping in my ear because the charge is low, and I'm going to be playing "How soon till the damned things dies and I have to grab the headset off the phone and tuck it uncomfortably between my head and shoulder while I troubleshoot.?"
And there are loads of nice areas in Dorchester! My sister bought a condo in Dot and my mother was like DORCHESTER??!? but her immediate neighborhood is actually kind of suburban, and even the walk to the T is not bad.
Oh yeah, 100% that. Tons of nice areas of Dot. It just doesn't go the other way -- it's not like there are bad pockets of Beacon Hill.
