My stretch teacher uses coconut oil as a sunblock.
Based on previous experience, coconut oil is not an effective sunscreen, despite what the interweb says. At least, not for melanin-challenged people like me.
It's raining and just above freezing. This probably means icy sidewalks tomorrow morning.
Oh yeah, I should go outside and scrape down the sidewalk etc. while it's close to freezing, before it starts raining. Instead, I am doing laundry and making soup! It's a good thing I'm just making the soup for me, because I lost the label off the broth in my freezer, so I'm 90% sure it's veg broth, but not 100% sure.
OK, so I removed some of the last bits of snow off the sidewalk and driveway, thereby ensuring that it will in fact be warm and rainy enough to get rid of all of it before it freezes again. You are welcome!
I just shoveled for the second time. About another 4 inches had fallen since the last time I was out.
Also, it sounds like everything around here is going to be closed through Tuesday, because of the beastly cold on top of a huge amount of snow. I have a feeling I'll be working from home tomorrow at least.
It sounds terrifying out there! Stay safe.
The snow is deep enough here we had a bit of trouble finding a place where the dog could cross the street this morning. Six more inches by nightfall, and then the cold sets in. High of minus 12 tomorrow. Oy.
Goodness. Stay warm and safe everyone!
I am also doing laundry, yee-haw.
Anne, you're still St. L, right? We have 5" in KC, and it's 13. Supposed to get more snow soon but it's on a break now. Supposed to be -9 +windchill tonight; methinks school will NOT be in session tomorrow.
Yup. Still in St. Louis. I'd guess we have about 7" right now where I am. My worry is that with the heavy winds this afternoon, people will end up losing power.
Chicago schools are staying open.
