I made it to the Catskills mostly ahead of the serious snow, in a rental SUV that felt safe. Here's to all the people who have to be at work, you are heroes all.
It's 3F here, but that is actually pretty normal for this time of year, and the house is warm.
Jesus, Kat! I would be livid.
I am staying home! Yay! And working. Boo.
Midtown Manhattan is pretty well shoveled. (The sidewalks are cleaner than the streets.) And the B/Q were running local but otherwise fine.
The most difficult part of my commute was getting to the end of my block, since our porter hadn't shown up yet to shovel in front of the building.
DH is home with the kids since schools are closed. There's basically nobody in the office.
HOWEVER, the Friday bagels are late, which is unacceptable. I need my carbs!
My mother hired some neighbor kids to do our steps, and I haven't heard the other neighbor running the snowblower yet, so I think I'm pretty well settled, not doing anything.
I should go out and sweep so the sun can attempt to do some work, but I've got a meeting in a few and the cold really sets off the sneezing....
My kids were fighting and I told them if they didn't stop I would make them go shovel the driveway and they LOVED that idea and got dressed and went outside. It's like a January 3 miracle. (It's 7 degrees here, and we only have a couple of inches but it's icy and coooold.)
I don't see any signs of neighbor kids, and feel like I should get out there. Also, i can't get my work computer on the wifi, because I think my mother lost the password. Ugh!
Wifi? Successful! Neighbor kids? Out there! Me? Now working, I guess.
It's 20 degrees here in Virginia and that is quite cold enough for me! My office in New Jersey is closed but I'm working anyway. Bless everyone who braved the elements, and be safe!
