I got partially out from the pile of paperwork today. maybe in another week, I will feel calm enough to start looking for something better suited.

The dept. where I used to work did really low on the employee survey on employees morale and them feeling their work was connected to the big picture. So they organized a dog and pony show to tell everyone how valued they were and how they fit into the business plan. At the end, the Big Boss got up and said, "Working at the Dept. of X should be like pissing yourself while wearing a dark suit. No one may notice, but you'll get a warm feeling." And that little anecdote told everyone exactly how little he cared about employee morale.
